The Beep Lingo Explained

Greetings, Chasers - 

 

There seems to be some recent activity on here (and Twitter, Facebook) surrounding the unofficial lingo of SNC, specifically the term "beep" and its derivatives.  I feel it is my duty - nay, honor - to set the record straight on behalf of the group to avoid any future confusion and, more importantly, to ensure the integrity of the term and its propagation.

 

The term "beep" was coined circa 2002 in Bloomington, IN.

Canada/UK Tour Recap

Hello, Chasers everywhere!

 

It's great to be home.  There's no place like it.  I speak for the rest of the guys when I say THANK YOU for the support and encouragement you've shown us already this year.  The best is yet to come...

 

How was Canada, you may be wondering.  Our northern neighbors were amazing and showed us the warmest of hospitality.  The country itself was beautiful, with its pristine mountain peaks towering above our bus, which, for the record, was mostly full of boots, scarves, and beards.  What I'm dancing around is this:  the weather was brutal.

Almost Home...

Hi from Raleigh, everyone.  We're in between shows (had a matinee at 2 PM today that went very well) and I'm hanging out in my hotel room at the moment.  As our year is rapidly coming to an end, I wanted to take some time while we're still on the road to give you a glimpse into how we've been doing lately.  "Exhausted" probably sums it up, but who knows, maybe another adjective will come forth by the time I'm done writing...

 

With home so close on the horizon, it can be easy at this point in the tour to lose sight of the impact and importance of the work we have left to do.

Musings From a Bunk

So I'm sitting in our meet-and-greet line after the show in Wallingford, CT the other night, examining the fineness of my Sharpie's tip to determine whether I need to trade surreptitiously with Randy while he's not looking, and a fan approaches me and says, "So, are you just going to let Don take over blogging on the website or what?"  Walt, who was sitting next to me, took advantage of the opportunity to do one of those "Ooooooooooh!" noises (you know the kind:  it's the one that started low and went really high up in pitch when someone in your 3rd-grade class got called to the principal's

Happy 2nd Birthday, Holiday Spirits!

Two years ago, on Tuesday, October 28, 2008, Straight No Chaser's debut album on Atlantic Records, Holiday Spirits, was released.  We in SNC found ourselves at our respective homes and workplaces, wondering where we were headed, how we were going make ends meet performing, and what putting a group of friends back together to sign a recording contract with one of the most storied labels in the industry truly entailed.
