Auld Lang Syne on 'The Big C'

In case you missed it, our version of Auld Lang Syne was featured on the Season 2 Finale of the SHOWTIME hit series, 'The Big C'.

In the season finale the show's heroine, Cathy Jamison (played by Laura Linney), decides she will enter the New Years' Day marathon in honor of her dying friend, Lee. Cue an emotional (and of course, tasteful) soundtrack for the moment she crosses the finish line... check it out below!

Phenomenal show last night in Colorado Springs. I brought 4 friends and my daughter, you have 5 new fans! Thanks for sharing your talent with us. It was an enjoyable and uplifting evening.

Based on this alone I have reserved the first season at the library. Long line for it. Was so pleased to see that the EW review included a link to your site!!

Saw the show, and I was sure I knew that arrangement! Thanks for the confirmation - I've been singing it for two days before I thought to Google it! And yeah, the music choice was perfect for the scene.

THis is one of my very favorite SNC songs that I listen to over & over, no matter what the season. So glad to see the national exposure for SNC!

Yes, when she finishes the marathon her family is there and then she sees two friends who died show up, then her husband shows up after the two dead friends. This is where this clip picks up and when her son says dad isn't here she realizes that he is dead.

The writer of the episode, Darlene Hunt, choose the song. In her blog she wrote, " I found it on iTunes early on while writing this episode and listened to it over and over. A lot of versions of that song were very maudlin and I loved this one’s upbeat vibe. I like how it plays against Paul’s realization at the end – that he might be among the dead and not the living." http://thebigcwritersblog.tumblr.com/

Okay, watched it again...is she fainting because the guy she sees behind the fence is dead?

Heck, we don't get than channel, so I've never seen it, and *I* was practically crying. Emotional is right! (Anyone know if this is available on DVD?)
