Yo. We're in Miami. Day started with a walk around town in search of morning sustenance with Walt, followed by an hour or so here in the back lounge of the bus catching up on some journaling I've been meaning to do, tallying up some receipts for next year's tax write-offs (fun times!), and basically avoiding the mid-day sun at all costs. My German/Scotch/Irish/English heritage blessed me with a predisposition to turn all sorts of exotic shades of pink and red from my natural translucent epidermal coloration anytime I'm south the North Pole. Perhaps after sound check, I'll go for the run I've planned on. Sorry, sorry, upon which I've planned. (Sorry, everyone.)
Every store here that sells sunglasses, jewelry, and electronics is LEGIT, a conclusion at which Walt and I arrived earlier. No need to check with the Better Business Bureau when you pull into town; you heard it here first. LEGIT.
Oddity of the day: the mannequins in store-front windows in this city are - how can I put this best into a PG-13 context? - proportionally enhanced in particular pectoral regions, which is intended apparently to attract a similarly, structurally altered clientele into said place of business.
Time for me to load into the venue (The Gusman Theater), settle in, catch up on some 24/Lost action on Hulu (say what say whhhaaattt), and eventually "make loud noises," as our tour manager Richard likes to say. Until the show later tonight, Miami (or "Mi-AM-uh" as my Nana says all Florida-like), lateness on the menjay.
PS - Will Smith, if you're in town, maybe at a Starbuck's on your Mac over a no-whip Chai tea soy latte (I don't know, maybe you're a Caramel Macchiato guy), on Straight No Chaser's website catching up, and you want to come to the show tonight, let me know and I'll reserve my comps for you plus one.
Party in the city where the heat is on, all night on the beach 'til the break of dawn,
Ryan
