California Dreamin'
November 29, 2009
...on such a winter's day. Actually, it feels like Spring here. Seriously, Christmas here must feel like just another Wednesday. We stepped out of LAX into a balmy southern California breeze - thankfully with all of our luggage. Good work, Southwest! I had deja vu at the baggage claim, where a year ago around this time my bag inexplicably got lost/was stolen/magically disappeared. Seeing Old Blue come down the baggage belt safe and sound was a small personal highlight of the day. The next was seeing two women outside do full-out yoga while waiting for their hotel shuttle. You know you're in LA when... ;) San Francisco was fun last night and we're looking forward to our show at the Wiltern Theatre here in LA today. We have 18 shows to go, I think, and it's only going to get crazier as December approaches. We have one stretch of dates that goes 11 days straight without a day off, so please keep sending positive thoughts and prayers for good energy and rest our way. I don't think we even had 18 shows in all of last year, so it's foreign territory for all of us. Don't forget: the PBS Christmas special we filmed in NYC this summer is airing all over the country. Thanks to everyone who has let us know on Facebook, Twitter, etc. what they've thought of the concert. Check out the PBS-exclusive DVD when you see it in your local listings! This is random, but does the long-haired UPS guy with the whiteboard and impossibly magic marker creep anyone else out? Cheers to Brett Favre who just earned me some solid red zone fantasy points. Keep 'em coming! I gotta beat Seggie this week. Until next time, thanks for stopping by. Thanks, also, to everyone who has called their local radio stations and requested songs off of Christmas Cheers! Ryan
