California Dreamin'

...on such a winter's day. Actually, it feels like Spring here. Seriously, Christmas here must feel like just another Wednesday. We stepped out of LAX into a balmy southern California breeze - thankfully with all of our luggage. Good work, Southwest! I had deja vu at the baggage claim, where a year ago around this time my bag inexplicably got lost/was stolen/magically disappeared. Seeing Old Blue come down the baggage belt safe and sound was a small personal highlight of the day. The next was seeing two women outside do full-out yoga while waiting for their hotel shuttle. You know you're in LA when... ;) San Francisco was fun last night and we're looking forward to our show at the Wiltern Theatre here in LA today. We have 18 shows to go, I think, and it's only going to get crazier as December approaches. We have one stretch of dates that goes 11 days straight without a day off, so please keep sending positive thoughts and prayers for good energy and rest our way. I don't think we even had 18 shows in all of last year, so it's foreign territory for all of us. Don't forget: the PBS Christmas special we filmed in NYC this summer is airing all over the country. Thanks to everyone who has let us know on Facebook, Twitter, etc. what they've thought of the concert. Check out the PBS-exclusive DVD when you see it in your local listings! This is random, but does the long-haired UPS guy with the whiteboard and impossibly magic marker creep anyone else out? Cheers to Brett Favre who just earned me some solid red zone fantasy points. Keep 'em coming! I gotta beat Seggie this week. Until next time, thanks for stopping by. Thanks, also, to everyone who has called their local radio stations and requested songs off of Christmas Cheers! Ryan

Yes, I did, and my husband did, too. I think he thought it was going to be a repeat of last year's concert and he was only "okay" with going because I wanted to. He was tapping his feet to a lot of it and laughed at the Christmas Can-Can, so I think we're both warmed up for it now. ;-) But the PBS show was TOO SHORT!!!

I was watching the dvd of SNC's rendition of Hi De Ho, at their concert 11 years ago and their rendition of it on PBS. Man! They've really polished it, improvised it, knocked it out of the ballpark and then some. Great job! 'S', you'll definitely enjoy their PBS concert tonight. :-) God bless.

Roger wilco, 'S'...sorry about that! Thanks for correcting me. I'm glad you'll get to watch them on Saturday. I'm looking forward to them coming later in Dec. You'll have to tell me all about it! Take care and God bless.

I am watching the PBS special for the third time, having taped it and marked it with 'k' so it cannot be deleted! I had never heard of you before but found you to be extremely talented and easy to listen to.
Love all the oldies music, for sure. My girls live in Pittsburgh, but I am hoping you will make it down to Jacksonville, Fl some day. You have my prayers for health, energy, and safety!

    Brandon,
I believe you're right. I guess it comes with the territory of being Acapella celebrities :-) Were you able to catch their PBS concert over the weekend? God bless.

Tanti M., I think it was back during the summer that someone (Ryan?) actually posted about finger-snapping blisters. :-D Hazard of the profession. ;-)

Wow! The 'rat pack of the modern era' have certainly outdone themselves! I loved the suits...you guys looked so sharp, sleek, dashing and debonair that you put James Bond to shame. The transition from 'Cant' Take My Eyes Off Off You' to 'Straight No Chaser' was as smooth as buddah (butter)...the harmonies were unbeatable! You certainly kicked up a few notches since your 'Live at Alumni Hall' concert. I was even impressed with your choreography...did 'Shoop' (did I spell his name right?) have a hand in your cool moves ;-) ? I'm in love with your arrangement of Bee Gees' 'How Deep is Your Love'! Your performance was tight, polished and breathtakingly awesome. In short, you guys make Acapella look sssssmoking! Congratulations on your excellent PBS concert!

P.S. Do you guys have chiropractic care from all the head nodding (or is it bouncing...Jerome amazes me!) ? ;-) I bet your fingers get the occasional blisters from the finger-snapping. Hope you have plenty of rest and are able to recharge yourselves sufficiently. :-) I'll be praying for your good health and safe traveling. God bless.

Wow; that's a lot to take in this late at night! I thought the UPS whiteboard guy was pretty cool, actually... Anyway, great job tonight; I wish I could've talked to you more afterwards, but, of course, the line was pushing me over! I hope you had as much fun performing as I had watching, and I hope I'll see you in the spring!!!
