Allow me to preface this blog by saying that I realize fully that I have occasionally far too much time on my hands while on tour.

Amidst a hectic schedule such as Straight No Chaser's, one's mind wanders and one may think to one’s self, "I wonder how many beards I can count today."  This happened to me yesterday while in the beautiful city of Portland, OR.  I shall now present to you infallible scientific proof that there

It's the end of the show.  We're winded.

Santa Fe is the highest elevated state capital in the country at 7,000 feet or so (2,000 above Denver) and we're feeling that altitude.  BUT, we're had a great time singing for everyone in the audience tonight, many of whom saw us perform live for the first time (always cool to see the show of hands and hear the cheers from crowds who haven't seen us before).

Yo.  We're in Miami.  Day started with a walk around town in search of morning sustenance with Walt, followed by an hour or so here in the back lounge of the bus catching up on some journaling I've been meaning to do, tallying up some receipts for next year's tax write-offs (fun times!), and basically avoiding the mid-day sun at all costs.  My German/Scotch/Irish/English heritage blessed me with a predisposition to turn all

During our sound check, he sat out in the studio,

    Greetings, Chasers.

Today we're in Kansas City, MO, where the sun is shining and it finally feels like Spring.  The Midland Theater is a beautiful venue and reminds me a lot of Proctors Theater in Schenectady, NY (from last year's Winter tour).  It has an early 20th century vibe with ornate decorations on the walls, a big chandelier, and a steep balcony way up high.  Due to union rules, we can't load in our gear from the bus

...on such a winter's day. Actually, it feels like Spring here. Seriously, Christmas here must feel like just another Wednesday. We stepped out of LAX into a balmy southern California breeze - thankfully with all of our luggage. Good work, Southwest! I had deja vu at the baggage claim, where a year ago around this time my bag inexplicably got lost/was stolen/magically disappeared. Seeing Old Blue come down the
