Chaser of the Month: Feb '13 - :::S.J.:::

February's COTM is our very good friend, Sarah Jane (AKA "S.J.").

She's the Chaser's resident SNC Photoshop Editor and has created many A Capella inspired photos. Check out her profile HERE to offer your congrats and say, "Hi!"

Sarah is also a contributing editor to the "SNC Quarter Notes" magazine and not only a fan of SNC but A Capella as a whole. Which other A Capella acts is everyone interested in these days? Did SNC ignite your interest in A Capella or did your love of A Capella lead you to discovering SNC? Chime in in the comments below!

I've loved A Capella music for a very long time, but I first recognized it when my middle school girls choir sang Hotaru Koi. It's still one of my favorite SSA a capella pieces. When the Warblers came to Glee, I was ecstatic to say the least. Now I sing a capella music all the time and I listen to SNC. :D

Congrats to you S.J. I am a newbie wih the SNC crowd. Found them recently on Youtube. I look foerward to checking your photos. Between "The Sing off" showing how beautiful A cappella truly is, and then I heard "The 12 Days..." on the radio. WOW, I am a Chaser fan now, hook, line and sinker . Hoping they come to RI this year. Note for you, as a photographer, you will love the beautiness of RI. Again, congrats.

Congratulations SJ! Nice work in spreading news about SNC and A Cappella! Your pictures are great! My love for a cappella goes way back to days of singing with my grandmother on our front porch. When I was in high school band every time we went anywhere on a school bus a group of us would be singing Eagles tunes, songs from Jesus Christ Superstar etc, our harmonies so impressed our band director he said if it were within his power to get us a recording contract he would. My daughter introduced me to SNC when her choir teacher was using the Live at the MAC DVD as part of chorus instruction. It was love at "first listen". These days I listen to SNC, Gentleman's Rule, Musae, Pentatonix, Peter Hollens, Take 6, Fork, Virginia Tech's Juxtaposition, UVA's Hullabahoos to name a few. I am a singer/musician at heart and there is always a tune in my head! A cappella tops my list of music genres.

SJ!! Congrats and well deserved!! When I think of A Capella fans, I think of Sarah. When I first found SNC, Sarah was the first SNC fan I met in person - at the 2010 OKC show - she reached out to me and befriended me beforehand on this SNC website, and we have been fast aca-friends ever since! She is the best! I am so thankful for her generous friendship in so many ways. Prior to finding SNC, I loved choral music and Gregorian chant, but was not focused in on A Capella per se ... until I saw a YouTube video on Facebook of "Fix You". It was so beautiful I could not believe my ears! I was hooked immediately and fell hard! Nobody does it like SNC, but I do follow others who take second to my love of SNC now: Street Corner Symphony, Committed, Peter Hollens, Pentatonix, House Jacks, Rockapella, Take 6, Overboard, Swingle Singers (who are coming here to Dallas next month. Yes!), Hyannis Sound, Chanticleer come to mind as I write this. Thank you SNC and Sarah Jane for making SNC, A Capella, and Chaserville a wonderful friendly place!! I am forever grateful!

I won't tell you how many years ago, but I used to live in Merrillville, Indiana. I was in high school at the time, and there was a mall there, Century Mall, and I believe it was around Christmas, in the middle of the mall there was this group of 5 guys just singing, I was hooked from that first song. The name of the group was Stormy Weather, they were pretty big for a local group. I went to every concert they were at,easy since I had a job at the time. So yes, it is their "fault" I am into a capella today. Now, I do not remember how I came across SNC's 12 days of Christmas a little over a year ago, maybe I was cruising YouTube, and saw a still with not 5, but 10 men on stage, and gave it a shot. It was the best song I have ever heard of. The way they did it impressed me greatly. I have always thought it had to take great concentration not to get messed up while singing that...that is one song I do not think I could do, even if I could sing..not the way they did it. Loved it, and loved them ever since! SNC FOREVER!

Congrats to SJ!! I now follow Peter Hollens, Pentatonix, Gentelman's Rule, The House Jacks, Overboard, Hyannis Sound, BOCA (Best of College A Capella), to name a few. A Capella is my go-to right now. =)
