Personal "thank you" to our fans and friends

A parting shot from me to you as the 2009 holiday tour concludes...

It's Christmas Eve, and I am flying home like so many others are to see their family. Two months of touring, as well as two months of recording prior to the tour, are behind us. As I head home, having said goodbye to the tour bus and the guys for now, it's tough not to become reflective on how blessed I feel to be a member of SNC...

From Indiana to Illinios, Ohio to Oregon, Canada to California, Pennsylvania to New York to Connecticut to Wisconsin, Minnesota, Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, Maryland, Washington, Kentucky, Michigan, Iowa, Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, Massachusetts, Virginia and FINALLY North Carolina... (many of these states repeative times). 24 states, 3 providences in just over two months - What a tour it has been.

We've sung in just about every type of venue imaginable, having sung for thousands and thousands of fans, metting so many kind and supportive friends along the way, signed about a million CDs and posters and programs and so on, and can't wait to do it all again.

I want to thank the following people:
    - Every single person that calls themselves a Chaser
    - My amazing wife Molly for being so understanding, patient and supportive
    - All of my family that came out on the road to support me or called me on the road to keep me company
    - Our management, our record label, our agents, and everyone that worked at a venue that we met along the way
    - Richard Korby, who as a tour manager made SNC more efficient, more professional and more of a group than it's ever ben before
    - Dave Mickle, our driver who braved two massive snow storms in two weeks, driving hours and hours through the night
    - And of course, my nine brothers in crime, Straight No Chaser for not killing me or each other while we roamed the country in a bus

I was teasing the past few days about how excited I was not to have to see all of the guys after this tour was done - all in gest of course.  To me, there is not a whole lot of things i deem more special than this group. Our fans rock and I am going to miss shaking hands every night and hearing how the heck all of you found your way to hearing of us and becoming our friends.

I'm sure a seasoned touring veteran might read this post and laugh knowing we've only been gone so long. But for me, it's not every day I tour to country with a traveling band. This was special. We may end up being road warriors in the months and years to come, but this tour will stay special in my mind as our first time around the block. Thank you for helping to make this be so tremendous, and we'll see you all again soon.

Can't believe I haven't seen this before, either! I third what everyone has already said. All of your dedication -- not only to the tour and the music, but to us, the fans -- is extremely appreciated. Usually, I'm into a music group for a very short amount of time, but I can proudly say that I've been a Chaser for over two years! And considering my past music obsessions and my age, that's saying quite a lot. But I've found that I've been drawn to SNC not only because of the AMAZING music and arrangements but because you guys are so connected to your fans. It's something that I've never really had before, and being able to say, "Yeah, I've met my favorite music group, and they know who I am" is the most amazing feeling in the world... :3 And it doesn't hurt that I've made some pretty incredible fan friends here, too! Anyway, I'm giddy with excitement for what you have in store for the spring album; now hurry up and get it done before I explode with anticipation! :D

I never saw this either. Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us, Walt. I'd like to echo everything everyone else said. We all love you guys and really appreciate you bringing such joy to us.

I second what Tina and S said. And I very much appreciate that you and the guys jump in with the fans out on the road and here. It's rare for artists to do that and it's special for all of us who love all of you and the great talents you bring to the world. I just found out you are back in the studio! Yay! 2010 is definitely looking up!

Hey, Walter - Somehow I didn't see this before. I'm with Tina - we thank you guys for all you did, too. I'm glad you're so pumped to get back at it; I'd be exhausted, at best.. Ah, to be young again. ;-) Seems like it was a great run professionally, and I hope things continue to build from this momentum for SNC.

Walt, I'm going to have to throw that "thank you" right back on you guys. It's easy to be fans of such an amazingly dedicated, talented, personable, and humble group of artists. You guys definitely made 2009 an unforgetable year for me and I'm looking forward to all that you guys have in store for us fans in 2010. God Bless! -Tina
