Straight No Chaser Blog

I saw the show on July 7th at Harrah's. You guys are great! I got almost all of your autographs on the With A Twist Cd I purchased but missed one of the group members so I had to get tickets to see you again in August to get that last signature and enjoy your show again! I even brought home my room key since you were on it! I love your sound, I love your performance, I can't wait to see you guys again in a few weeks!

But even if people heard ARB, they had no idea that the guys were doing all the "instrumentals" vocally. Some PR is better than no PR, but this wasn't what it could have been -- no fault of the guys.

Those captions were up pretty fast, I can understand how you'd miss it. It was up, said "Stars & Stripes Forever, performed by Straight No Chaser and The New York Pops."

Made me feel all proud :)

Sorry, Sarah Liz--when I watched the show on the East coast, Stars and Stripes had no artist listed! Only "Ragtime Band" had a caption!

They got credit for both songs. I thought it was great. I mean, think of how many people were watching because of who the musical guests were... and then, when they heard the awesomeness of Alexander's Ragtime Band and Stars & Stripes Forever, they had only to look at the song caption to know who the amazing voices belonged to. A great opportunity for our guys!

Judy: You expressed my thoughts exactly. I thought the whole show was a bust! Most certainly you would feel that way after watching the PBS Capital Fourth! Truly honored the day with incredible talent appearing and the firewords were amazing as well. The only thing good about Macy's was hearing SNC sing while only getting credit for one song! Sorry guys, but you were the only thing worth watching! After watching, I felt like boycotting Macy's but remember I don't shop there anyway!

I disagree---I thought the fireworks were GREAT!! ---and I wish they had gotten more time on the Today show. With the fireworks, they got as much captioning as anyone else. Great job both times, guys!

The Macy Fireworks program certainly was a bust! It did you no favors.....the captioner couldn't even caption your song! I was so looking forward to having at least as much coverage as you had on the Today Show....That was where it is at!

Happy 4th of July to everyone. There were 10 good-looking guys on the Today show. We had a neighborhood picnic yesterday. I put With a Twist in my car CD, turned up the music, opened the doors and everyone enjoyed the serenade. And while I was telling someone (in Mt. Pleasant SC) the name of the group was Straight No Chaser, a visitor from PA overheard the group's name, came over and said "they were just in my hometown not long ago". It wasn't a sighting in England, like Ryan's highlight, but cool never-the-less that we connected with the Straight No Chaser name.

Hope the person that won the contest for the Harrah's visit had a great time with SNC! Hope they will fill all of us who can't make it--at least it would be nice to live vicariously through them!

Poor Ryan! He has been so busy, he can't remember the holiday!

Thanks for the tour, guys! Did you say 53 songs, or did I mis-hear that part? The set looks fantastic! Can't wait to see it all!
