As the holiday comes closer, we wanted to share a few personal traditions from the guys.
Tyler: We go to a movie every year after we open presents on Christmas Eve. We get one of those big 1000 piece puzzles and work it together while we listen to Christmas music. One of our tour traditions while we’re on the road is to decorate the bus with holiday decorations and stockings. We also play FIFA soccer on mute and listen to Christmas songs.
Steve: With the kiddos, we now take a yearly visit to get a photo with Santa. We then go out to eat, and drive around some of our local neighborhoods taking in the Christmas lights. On Christmas Eve, my wife runs the Christmas pageant for the family service. We attend that service and then return to my in-laws for dinner and a massive family gift exchange (which usually lasts until midnight at the earliest). Needless to say, the kids go crazy for each and every present, and it’s always a great evening.
Randy: Every year, we read The Night Before Christmas. On Christmas Eve, we drive around to see our neighborhood’s Christmas lights and luminaries. Like most families, we open our gifts on Christmas morning.
Don: We listen to some of my favorite compilation records (yes, vinyl; though my sister recently digitized so I have it on iTunes as well.) We listen to these as long as I can remember. My favorite is definitely The Great Songs Of Christmas Album Six (Columbia Special Projects, 1966).
