Tour Update from Seggs In The City (my new nickname)

Hey hey SNC land!

Ok so here we are after a week and a half of tour. This tour has started off on fire!

Every show has been sold out so far, so the houses have been jam packed and extremely rowdy, which we love!

A few firsts on this tour....

SNC's first trip to Colorado and Kansas City.

Dan got engaged on stage in front of a sold out crowd at the Chicago Theater.

(can be seen here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EU2rP8SW8bI)

SNC's first time selling out the IU Auditorium in Bloomington.

SNC’s first pop album “With A Twist” was released!

SNC will be on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon on Friday April 16th.

I got my first Boston haircut.  (This isn’t really relevant to the group, just thought I’d throw that in to make sure you’re still paying attention)

I still cannot believe the turnouts at our shows.  The autograph lines get longer and longer after each show and I have the same reaction everytime.  "WOW!  How do all of these people know who we are?!"  I don't know how long it will take to set in, but this does not seem like it will ever get old.

There was a moment in Bloomington really blew me and the guys away.  We were back stage and had just finished our show.  Indiana University's men's basketball coach, and our very good friend Tom Crean was in attendance at our show.  I get back into my dressing room after the final encore and see that my twitter page has updated.  What was the top tweet?

"The essence of teamwork is watching STRAIGHT NO CHASER perform. Big time! Buy the new CD TOMORROW! Its being released"

-Tom Crean

What an incredible compliment.  Coming from someone we all look up to and have great respect for, this really blew us away.

Our gratitude to all of you fans literally cannot be expressed in words.  Just know that we continue to perform night in and night out for you!  I know we say this all the time, but we owe all of our success to you.  Without your support there would be no SNC.  Just know that every time we set foot on stage, it is completely safe to assume that the show you are about to see is fully dedicated to you.

Show tonight in Hartford, CT.  Gorgeous city and an amazing venue, The Bushnell.  2,828 seats and its completely sold out.  I’m still confused as to how all of these people know who we are!  Well, its time to sound check and get into show mode (which basically means, I turn up my music on my laptop, which is currently Justin Nozuka’s new album….he’s awesome if you didn’t know…but I suggest “With A Twist” for you :) ).  Time to make myself a hot toddy and enjoy a nice fresh apple.

Enjoy your upcoming weekend and don’t forget to catch us on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon tomorrow night at 12:30am.  If you’re going to be out on the town or asleep, don’t forget to set your DVR’s!  Remember like 15 years ago when one would have said to set your VCR to record?  We’ve come so far.

Hope to see you all at some point on this tour…or in Atlantic City this summer!

I have just one question for you:

What exactly is a Boston haircut? I'm hoping it just means that you got it in Boston, not that it's some retro-throwback to some former era. After all, you did mention a VCR! :)

Actually SheriS, I respect all your opinions and comments very much. It's sad that instead of sympathizing with someone who was singled out and humiliated at an SNC show, you choose to blame and ridicule me for it. Charlie, despite your mocking my comment (most entertainers have stamps or ghost writers on their blogs and I don't know your everyday routines, sorry about that), you and Randy are still my favorite SNC-ers. Thanks Julie for considering my side. Believe me it is not lost on me that perhaps this was a theater employee. He was not dressed, however, as Chicago theatre employees I saw that night nor any other shows I have seen there but I suppose anything is possible. I have not made those attempts as I thought I would mention it to SNC directly. It was never my intention to become the butt of jokes but whatever, I can take it. I just saw an amazing Jon McLaughlin show last night here in Chicago at Schubas. What a refreshing difference! Mr M treated all his fans as friendly and with as much grace as I have ever experienced. He signed cds, clothes, posters anything that was put in front of him. He posed for pictures, even helped nervous fans work their cameras and had one-on-one conversations with everyone. And his show was rockin' too! Watching him interact and joke with everyone restored my faith in live performers. This is what any fan should expect from performers who care about their supporters experience. And the Schubas people went out of their way to be patient and kind to everyone. They helped make it as relaxed and fun a night as possible. Don't get me wrong, the SNC concert was great and I still love the music. Randy and Charlie especially. I do wish I could've told you in person. Sounds like lots of others had that opportunity.

Julie: We haven't seen or heard from "Just Me" since her accusations! Apparently she wasn't happy with the responses she received. That was the point of Charlie's picture today that he posted as if you look at the computer, that was the blog post that he was accused of not posting.

Nice stamp, Charlie! But do you know how to write script? ;-)

Just wondering if "JustMe" even CONSIDERED contacting the venue about the "incident." Who knows if someone else was treated unfairly that evening? If I were told to LEAVE the theater while others were in line to see the guys, you better believe I would be looking for management of the venue. It's all about choices. JustMe chooses to be bitter. For every person he/she thinks they are keeping away from SNC, I am recruiting three more!

Now. Everyone take a collective deep breath, and let's move on, shall we?

It isn't often that anyone in the entertainment industry interacts this much with their fans.
I hope you all don't get tired of hear how great you are from us, cause I don't think we'll ever stop telling you! The pics, the tweets, the facebook friending! This stuff just doesn't usually happen.

Charlie I'm sure this had to really bother you based on how much it upset your fans. I'm a fairly new fan but I have had nothing but good expereinces.

So to all the SNC guys please keep the blogs coming; it is nice to have a little lookie what runs through you brains lol.

    Safe travels to you all.

Charlie, you're the greatest. I'm glad you realize how much your crazy fans love and adore all of you.

Thanks for the album recommendation, but seriously, the ONLY thing I've listened to in the car is SNC since October of '08. Everything else pales in comparison.

Thanks Charlie! Your comments are greatly appreciated and warmly received. SNC guys are the best and the willingness to communicate with fans is something I've never found from other "stars". All your fans are truly blessed by the thing SNC does--staying after concerts to sign autographs and just talk to your fans, providing the blog for fans to "talk" to one another, and sharing your thoughts with us about what is happening. Looking forward to Norfolk, this Saturday, and my chance to see you in real live peeps! Bless you all and A VERY BIG THANK YOU!

Thanks Charlie :) It's good to hear from you.

And thanks for the album recommendation... I'm always looking for new stuff!

(By the way, stamping can be tiring too... hand cramps from gripping the stamps!)

Hey, it's Charlie again, posting from the correct sign-in this time. (I accidentally posted the last comment on my old account sign-in from our previous version of the website, oops, been a little busy) Although I think it is awesome and hilarious that we would hire people to ghost write for us on our website (and even that we have the money and need for STAMPS of our autographs). I am sorry to all of the great fans who have been subjected to that part of this thread, it is not what Seggie's blog was intended for, nor what it deserved. I also apologize for engaging the unhappy party, I was only trying to help, but it seemed to have the opposite result. Although my offer of rectification still remains, it seems that there is nothing to be done to help. Also thanks to the super fans for their personal communications and kind words. It was definitely getting to me, despite my trying to let it go. This is the first time we have had a negative experience by a fan, and that really bothered me and the guys, so I wanted to make it better. Then to have it escalate so abruptly was really awful. I have tried to remember that any of our true fans know us and know that we would never stand for anything of that nature. Period.

So keep reading and responding to Seggie's,and all of the blogs and posts, we love hearing from you and it is a great break from the road! Also, in addition to the Justin Nozuka album, Daniel Merriweather's "Love & War" album is a great listen, if you're looking for some new music.

And someone tell me how to get that autograph stamp, my hand is killing me. :)
