Tween Tours

Hello SNC world.

I just thought I'd give you an insight of what I'm doing in my off time now that we're in-between tours(see what i did there with the title?) As you probably saw from my Valentines Day Video it snows A LOT here in Iowa. It seriously feels like everyday, although lately there has been sun so there IS hope. Right now it's 7 degrees. 7 degrees.

By day I am constantly working on new material for the group. Being one of the arrangers in SNC i try to arrange a song every couple days. Hopefully one or two will be used for the spring tour. I listen to A LOT of music to try and get new material.  I also am an avid gym user. Gotta stay in shape in the off-season, at least that's what my at-home Tony Romo workout told me.

By night I like to watch TV shows, and my favorite's right now are:

LOST- Final season. Seriously the best show on TV. My roommate junior year of college got me into it and I've been hooked ever since. I'm currently waiting for Ryan to catch up(he's on season 5) so we can talk about it on tour.

House- Great show Hugh Laurie is awesome. Watched seasons 4 and 5 on our last tour.

American Idol- I've never seen a season all the way through(a big FAKE just came from the entire group) but there's a girl in the top 24 from Des Moines, IA and I'm cheering her on(Katelyn Epperly).

Undercover Boss- The new show on CBS that aired after the Super Bowl(too bad about the Colts) about CEO's who go undercover in their own companies doing the entry level or back room jobs. Pretty interesting. So far they've had the CEO's of: Waste Management, Hooters, 7 Eleven, and this week is the guy from White Castle. The truck driver last week from 7 Eleven was awesome.

The Office- This show is great. It takes you one season to get into it, but once you understand all the characters it's an amazing show. I think Dwight is my favorite.

Sportscenter- Duh. More news than an actual show, but great. I usually watch from 10a-12p while checking emails/talking to Seggie online.

Best Commercials right now are those Old Spice commercials. They're awesome.

I've also dog sat, helped my Great Aunt with her taxes and even got some guys together to sing at my dad's work dinner. What up Ocean's Four.

So that's been me for the last couple months. Excited to get back on tour in April.

LOST is the best show filmed in Hawaii ever... I use to live there. They film most of the jungle scenes up the street from where I grew up. :)

I LOVE Extras! Ricky Gervais and Ashley Jensen are fabulous.

The original version of the office is fantastic. Ricky Gervais is a comical genius. I won't lie, some of the British "humour" is lost on me, but its hilarious overall.

If you haven't seen it, find Ricky Gervais other show called "Extras". It's equally amazing and Ricky Gervais will make you pee your pants laughing.

Can I make a suggestion or request for songs? Anything Beatles! Maybe a medley would be cool! I know you guys would make it awesome!

Question to any who like The Office (yes, this includes you Tyler): Have you ever seen the British original? I'd love to hear what anyone thought going from the original to ours. I loved the original (Ricky Gervais cracks me up), and I really enjoy our version, but I do like to hear what others think...

I agree with you on all the shows except LOST, could never get into it for some reason. LOVE the Office, just started watching 6 months ago & got fully caught up (love syndication) ... I used to despise that show, weird! I start my day with SportsCenter since I can only have ESPN on at work ... except for the Olympics! Been a great 2 weeks :-)

Enjoy the rest of your time off, hopefully it will warm up here in the midwest and thaw before you go on tour!

one of my fav quotes from The Office
*Michael Scott*: I guess the atmosphere that I've tried to create here is that I'm a friend first and a boss second, and probably an entertainer third.
wait, have to include a Dwight quote . . .
*Jim Halpert*: My roommate wants to meet everybody. Because I'm pretty sure he thinks I'm making Dwight up. [takes a deep breath, shakes head] He is very real. [sighs]

Tyler, I agree about House, but I have never/haven't got in to anything else. And I agree with Christine. I would LOVE to hear an SNC version of the Devil Went Down to Georgia!
