yep i'm missing the navigation banner as well as the twitter link. It's been that way for about three weeks now. Thought it was just me.

omg, you're right... 11 mics! I never noticed that before :)

klancy96's picture

As soon as I wrote that, the Spring Tour banner moved out of place and covered the fade out pic of mics... I swear there are 11 though. The extra one that's different than the album cover is in the middle. I tend to notice non-important details like that. The important things in life, I forget. Oh how the wondorous mind works...

Shh, the disappearing navigation bar is a conspiracy... if you notice there's 11 microphones in the picture that resides where the bar goes. It's the 11th mic that causes all the problems! (It's either that or the SNC Web Crew wanted his own mic so he add an 11th to the picture...)

Sorry, my imagination gets the best of me some days LOL (I like the 11 mic picture so no complaints from me on that. My mind likes to ponder who the 11th one is for!)

I figured that about mine also. I guess we all have that universal common thread of not having a navigational banner.

Shaina's picture

That has happened for me too, but I always assumed that my computer was just being mean. ;)

Sarah Liz's picture

yeah, I've had on-again-off-again issues with the navigation banner. Most of the last two weeks of December, it didn't load on the page. Then it was fine for a few days and now it varies.

S. is right once again, the banner at the to hasn't shown up for me personally since last month.

Just thought of another thing... I'd really like to have an RSS feed of all the activity that goes on here... Another goodie from the old site that I miss... :)

If the names of the soloists, arrangers, and who the music is written by could be added to the songs, I would appreciate it. You don't always get that information when you buy through Amazon or iTunes and that's stuff that I do like to know. To have it on the website would be great.

This is more of a tech thing, but why is it that sometimes the labels load across the top of the page and sometimes they don't? The home/blog/music/photos, etc. It's much easier to access sections from there than scrolling down to the bottom of the page.

Thanks so much everyone! This has been extremely helpful. Please feel free to continue posting feedback and suggestions.

I agree with S. about being able to get the sheet music. It would be great for a capella groups and jazz groups, especially the ones i sing with.

*chiming in* ditto on the private messages... and following specific threads. AND the FAQ page.

Love the Twitter stream.

Ditto on the private messaging and following a thread. I'm still trying to find a video that was posted earlier today with Seggie singing in Michigan. I saw there was a video when I was at work and was going to watch it when I got home. Anyone know where it is?

Yes, Shaina, yes! On the original site we could choose to "follow" a discussion and get e-mail notification when something new was posted. The return of that would be greatly appreciated. Now you have to come back and either look at everything or try to keep a mental note of how many hours or days it has been since you were last here.

I agree with Christine; I LOVE the Twitter stream!!

I also agree with SDI; maybe having a moderator or something would help with all of these problems. I feel like there are a lot of duplicate discussions and discussions that are just... sitting there. They were never really active or anything.

Also another thought: is there any possible way to get notifications on certain discussions via email? I know that I already get emails for discussions that I've started, but is there any way that we could also decide if we want those same notifications for other discussions that we have NOT started? Just a thought, since I feel like sometimes I get so behind on a discussion because I haven't known how active it was... :D

I love the site but at times I feel that there are too many discussions going on at one time that cover the same topic. Maybe organize the discussions as you do the photos.

I heart the Twitter stream.

It would also be helpful, imo, to have an FAQ page. There are regular questions about buying sheet music. It's not my interest, but it has come up a number of times and I have never seen any kind of official answer about it: yes, no, who to contact, what it would cost, etc.

FAQs could also include answers to (general) inquiries about tickets sales, including what the story is with pre-sale availability. Different venues seem to give different answers. If that is something that should be the same across the board, please let us know what the policy is and how it is applied. If it does change from venue to venue, then let us know that, and how best to contact someone. (When I attempted to buy tickets late last summer for the Dec. 5 concert in Indy, LiveNation said there were pre-sale tickets available the day before regular sales with a promo code. The Murat told me that it was usually something provided by a fan club, and that it was up to "the band" to provide it. The question about how to get that promo code was posted here more than once, and not only by me, but I never saw an official answer.) I think the fans are due basic information about these things.

Has there been any particular place to contact management for questions? I don't know what all of them have been, but I've been around here a while, and I have seen many questions posted that aren't just "when are you coming to Podunk?"

I agree with Shaina about the private messaging. It would be nice to be able to make a comment to or ask a question of someone else without everyone being able to see it. If, for example, you realize that someone else lives near you, you might want to be able to find out more without posting that "in public."

I really like this new site in comparison to the old site. There's a lot of multimedia stuff (which makes me very happy), but I guess the drawback to that is that my computer can't handle everything going on. Because of that, I have to pre-write everything on Notepad, then I copy/paste it into the comment box, since it takes FOREVER to type things in. But I don't think that it's a site problem, since I've been able to type things in on other computers.

One thing that I do miss from the old site, however, would be the private message system. I liked being able to send a private message to someone without worrying about someone else being able to see it. That's the major thing that I would like to come back; otherwise, I really love the site!
