    SNC Names

I've been impressed with the number of fan suggested songs and even explanations with why you'd love to hear the song! I think that thread has over 200 comments now.  I've also seen a few future Album names suggested throughout reading different discussions and comments.

SNC has clearly come up with some great names, so they have a real knack for it, but I'm curious...

If you could name the album that comes after "With a Twist", what would it be?

Reading one of my previous posts... I'd like to make a slight update:
"Don't Forget to Tip Your Waitresses!"

Has anyone suggested "Magnum" yet?

"You Guys Could Use a Drink". "See You Guys at the Bar". "Are You Guys Coming to Happy Hour?" Maybe not... I'll keep working on it...

Okay, this isn't a drinking-themed title idea, but when I read through many of the posts here & on SNC's FB page, I am struck by one phrase that keeps appearing. I wonder how the phrase "you guys" can be worked into an album title. :-)

I just wasn't sure if the 'not stirred' part would fit for the reason.

ChaserJulie's picture

...not stirred?

Shaken...

That's a good one, Julie. Along the same lines: "Raise a Glass."

"Here's a Toast"

I first typed this as "Hears a Toast" which is my dyslexic fingers at work, but, a bit of a play on words, don't ya think? (yeah, it's stupid, I know! lol)

Tina, I think someone suggested "Last Call" before, and a few folks thought that would sound like their final album. I do like the name, but kind of think the same thing. Think there might be a way to indicate otherwise with cover art or something? Hmmm....

I guess it depends on the date the new album is dropped; if it's in the fall it'd be different than if it dropped around Christmas time. If it's an album of mostly their songs, I like "Straight from the Tap". I suggest their fifth album be called, get this, "a fifth". I know, simple, but packs a punch. Or "last call (as in alcohol)"

And happy hour is at 5?! I could've sworn Sonic said it was every weekday from 2-4 :)

Thanks, Kathy! .... I wish I liked my spelling! I swear, I know how to spell *Straight* and *irony*... oy

LOL, Klancy. Cute.

Throw some bonus tracks on the next CD and it can be...

Straight No Chaser ... with a Chaser

or simply

Staight No Chaser: Chased

:o) I like the ironly lol

Ok, here's my two cents...

Cocktails
Half Keg (or Quarter Keg)

and my personal favorite: Don't Forget to Tip the Bartender!

According to Wikipedia:
"It's Five O'Clock Somewhere" is a song sung by Alan Jackson with Jimmy Buffett, and written by Jim "Moose" Brown and Don Rollins. It spent eight non-consecutive weeks at Number One on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart in summer of 2003. In addition, the song hit number 17 on the US Hot 100, making it the biggest pop hit Jackson and the first top forty for Buffet since the seventies. On November 5, 2003, it also won the Country Music Association (CMA) Award for Vocal Event of the Year. It is also Buffett's only Number One hit.

Wrong song for my reply. I was thinking of "Hey, Good Lookin'." Didn't one of those two do that live with a couple of "guest artists," big name country stars? Can't recall who and couldn't find it with a quick search of iTunes, Amazon, and Google.

S. Brandon's picture

Didn't Alan Jackson record that with a couple of "guest artists?"

I know that Alan Jackson, recorded 5 o'clock somewhere,,,,and Jimmy Buffet popped in at the end. But did he (Jimmy) record the song also??

LovedeAcapella's picture

"it's 5 o'clock somewhere"

Is that too Jimmy Buffet?

Bahaha. That one made me giggle, S. They did have an album called Last Call in college. I looove all of the songs on it, but haven't been able to get a copy. =( It's got a few songs you'll see on YouTube...This Is How We Do It, Hi De Ho, You Make Me Wanna, and Back Home Again In Indiana. If anyone knows how to get a hold of it, this chick would be grateful. ^_^

Happy hour...who doesn't like happy hour, right Dave? I like that name.

Geez, guys, do we have to have so many referring to being drunk? Sounds like we need one called "Designated Driver," or "Give Me Your Keys, You're Not Going Anywhere."

You are welcome Christine, I think I shortened it for you. I'm glad you like it. You can have the royalty check for that one.
