    Tween Tours

    Hello SNC world.

I just thought I'd give you an insight of what I'm doing in my off time now that we're in-between tours(see what i did there with the title?) As you probably saw from my Valentines Day Video it snows A LOT here in Iowa. It seriously feels like everyday, although lately there has been sun so there IS hope. Right now it's 7 degrees. 7 degrees.

By day I am constantly working on new material for the group. Being one of the arrangers in SNC i try to arrange a song every couple days. Hopefully one or two will be used for the spring tour. I listen to A LOT of music to try and get new material.  I also am an avid gym user. Gotta stay in shape in the off-season, at least that's what my at-home Tony Romo workout told me.

By night I like to watch TV shows, and my favorite's right now are:

LOST- Final season. Seriously the best show on TV. My roommate junior year of college got me into it and I've been hooked ever since. I'm currently waiting for Ryan to catch up(he's on season 5) so we can talk about it on tour.

House- Great show Hugh Laurie is awesome. Watched seasons 4 and 5 on our last tour.

American Idol- I've never seen a season all the way through(a big FAKE just came from the entire group) but there's a girl in the top 24 from Des Moines, IA and I'm cheering her on(Katelyn Epperly).

Undercover Boss- The new show on CBS that aired after the Super Bowl(too bad about the Colts) about CEO's who go undercover in their own companies doing the entry level or back room jobs. Pretty interesting. So far they've had the CEO's of: Waste Management, Hooters, 7 Eleven, and this week is the guy from White Castle. The truck driver last week from 7 Eleven was awesome.

The Office- This show is great. It takes you one season to get into it, but once you understand all the characters it's an amazing show. I think Dwight is my favorite.

Sportscenter- Duh. More news than an actual show, but great. I usually watch from 10a-12p while checking emails/talking to Seggie online.

Best Commercials right now are those Old Spice commercials. They're awesome.

I've also dog sat, helped my Great Aunt with her taxes and even got some guys together to sing at my dad's work dinner. What up Ocean's Four.

So that's been me for the last couple months. Excited to get back on tour in April.

LOST is the best show filmed in Hawaii ever... I use to live there. They film most of the jungle scenes up the street from where I grew up. :)

House is the best!!! Love that Hugh Laurie...saving up to buy Season 4 :)

I LOVE Extras! Ricky Gervais and Ashley Jensen are fabulous.

The original version of the office is fantastic. Ricky Gervais is a comical genius. I won't lie, some of the British "humour" is lost on me, but its hilarious overall. If you haven't seen it, find Ricky Gervais other show called "Extras". It's equally amazing and Ricky Gervais will make you pee your pants laughing.

Can I make a suggestion or request for songs? Anything Beatles! Maybe a medley would be cool! I know you guys would make it awesome!

I would volunteer to stalk Seggie online. ;-)

ha! that is awesome.

At first glance I thought it said "stalking Seggie online."

Question to any who like The Office (yes, this includes you Tyler): Have you ever seen the British original? I'd love to hear what anyone thought going from the original to ours. I loved the original (Ricky Gervais cracks me up), and I really enjoy our version, but I do like to hear what others think...

I agree with you on all the shows except LOST, could never get into it for some reason. LOVE the Office, just started watching 6 months ago & got fully caught up (love syndication) ... I used to despise that show, weird! I start my day with SportsCenter since I can only have ESPN on at work ... except for the Olympics! Been a great 2 weeks :-) Enjoy the rest of your time off, hopefully it will warm up here in the midwest and thaw before you go on tour!

one of my fav quotes from The Office *Michael Scott*: I guess the atmosphere that I've tried to create here is that I'm a friend first and a boss second, and probably an entertainer third. wait, have to include a Dwight quote . . . *Jim Halpert*: My roommate wants to meet everybody. Because I'm pretty sure he thinks I'm making Dwight up. [takes a deep breath, shakes head] He is very real. [sighs]

Tyler, I agree about House, but I have never/haven't got in to anything else. And I agree with Christine. I would LOVE to hear an SNC version of the Devil Went Down to Georgia!

Sarah, I heart my #SNCmusicfans buddies!
Sarah Liz's picture

Christine, I think you are my new favorite person. *nods*
LovedeAcapella's picture

Oh, and please consider my request for an SNC version of "Devil Went Down to Georgia." Many thanks.

Dear Tyler: I will continue to be amused by #tylerneedsatwitter, #tylerneedsatwittertuesday, and #whydoesnttylerhaveatwitterwednesday, but I can be satisfied with #atleasttylerhasayoutube. Sincerely, Christine ;-)

yes we will, Shaina... if nothing else, it amuses.

-sigh- Ah, well. We'll still be trending it! Today was rainy... Not sure if I like that, though. It means it's cold. Staunchly against watching Lost, for personal reasons. ;) Something about it just annoys the heck outta me.
Sarah Liz's picture

well, you can't say we didn't try :)

Thanks for the comments guys! Unfortunately, I probably wont get Twitter for awhile. Sorry to disappoint. -Tyler

I would just like to admit that I am an office addict Question: which bear is best?
Sarah Liz's picture

hate to disappoint, S, but it's kinda rainy here today... no sun to send, unfortunately. I'm waiting for LOST to end and then I'm borrowing my brother's dvds and watching them all in order. I watched the first season and then my night classes kept me from keeping up.

It's 23 degrees and snowing here, but 7 sounds even worse. :-( Could someone in California PLEASE send sunshine our way? I started out liking Lost, but it got too darned confusing when they added a dozen or more new characters periodically. I finally gave up, although I have read bits and pieces about since and am intrigued to see how they will wrap it up.

(apologies for the multiple comments... I keep forgetting to say stuff.) I LOVE Katelyn Epperly. I'm also rooting for Tim Urban and Andrew Garcia. (and, by the way, Shaina hasn't even touched on how much #tylerneedsatwitter seems to have taken off... it's totally wicked.)

Nice to hear that you've been keeping busy. I assume that there's not too much you can do in the snow... (Silently, I am thankful that I live in LA.) Enjoy the last few days of rest and relaxation before you go back to the studio! (And, by the way, there's a bunch of us that have been trending the following topic on Twitter: #tylerneedsatwitter) ;-)

Hey Tyler: I just missed seeing Katelyn last night. She is a student at the university I graduated from many years ago. They have a terrific music school as well (at least it was when I was there) so wanted to check her out. Received a online newsletter from the school yesterday talking about Katelyn. Hope she makes it through tonight! Sounds like you are making good use of your time while at home. Hope you are getting rested up--tour soon approaches. Can't wait for the release and then your visit to Norfolk. Enjoy your down time while you can.

Forgot to say... thank you for posting. We do like to hear from you :) Looking forward to seeing y'all in So Cal!

::waving:: Hi Tyler... good to hear from you. Sounds like have kept yourself busy. So much talent between the ten of you i'm just in awe everytime i watch the PBS special (Hope you all are gonna have another) or listen to the music. Stay safe and healthy and God bless. oh yeah a quick question lol do you think i can deduct the cost of my SNC library as therapy costs cause it's listening to your music everyday at therapy that gtes me through that evil torture lol. The 2 tracks off the preorder awesome. Puts another 5 plus minutes inot my cardio at therapy. Have a great day.

at least you've been keeping busy! *shudders at the thought of 7 degrees... and thanks God she lives in California* (nice quote there... Zolteck had all the good ones! "AHHHHHHHHH! It's a mom!")
