What do you do when you listen to SNC?

What do you do when you listen to SNC?

    Hey Chasers,

This question can be taken one of two ways, the first in which you purposely play SNC either for straight listening enjoyment or to have as entertainment (for example I listen to SNC when I jog), or if your iPod is on shuffle and it comes on randomly, what do you do? Do you dance around? Mouth out the words? I thought this could be an interesting and maybe hilarious topic.

Personally, I listen to SNC on the treadmill, and I need to keep myself entertained or else I'll give up, so I'll dance while I'm running, make arms motions to the songs, clap at appropriate points. Lol, And of course bass solos get specific faces because somehow I think if I contort my face I can reach the low notes. Haha, seriously I bet it's hilarious to watch me do this, I better get a camera and youtube it. Oh, and FYI for any other runners, Christmas Can-Can is an awesome running song! :)

Lol I always imagine a "Win a Date with Tad Hamilton" situation...hahaha, if you've seen the movie.

I always pretend that during one concert they might call me up on stage and ask me to sing with them...so I make sure my facial expressions are convincing! Haha! Like you, Abbigale, I feel SO dumb!! But I don't care! I love SNC and I don't mind looking silly for them :)

@Djinnyeh: Thank you (ROFL) - glad i asked - thats funny and worth knowing!!!

I really had to think about this question? SNC always brings a smile for me as well as singing along with them. After listening to all their albums in my "travels" in the car, their music is playing so by this time I know almost all their songs. At my last concert, sitting in the second row, Ryan comment during the M & G that I was mouthing all the words with them. My car only has SNC music in it and it keeps me happy, but the downside would be you know all the words to their songs but you are happy!

I smile.

Just like Kristin, I rarely listen to anything other than SNC. I do listen to their solo stuff too, but then go right back to SNC. So I'm doing anything and everything. Housework, since it has to get done, goes by much quicker and usually better when I have some SNC on ~ loudly ~ when no one else is home. Always on when I'm sewing. I can just get lost listening to them so sometimes I have to set the kitchen timer to remind me to get somewhere! :) Love to cook with them on, oh, and working out is SO MUCH BETTER with SNC. I can go longer listening to them! :) So I get a much better workout!! They're always on in the car. Now, mind you, I went to my first concert last May, so that's what's been the car ever since!! I am *severely afflicted with Chaser Mania* as Kristin would say!

@Kristin ~ Bruno Mars cd is GREAT, but I can totally see why you're having a problem getting through it. :D

@Lillian - I don't bother with the dignity of headphones. I work alone 90% of the time; most of my coworkers are in another city. I sing and dance a good part of my shift away, except when I'm filling out my excel sheets... bouncing the mouse around is not condusive to putting the right stuff in the right cells...

Ok, just checking in while I wait for my sis to come jump-start my car - I better get out there!

TTFN!

I spend long days in front of a computer screen at work. So, I fire up the machine, put on my headphones and listen to music while I work. But I do have to be careful when I listen to SNC because before I know it, my toes are tapping and my hips are shaking and I'm singing out a lyric or two when I'm mouthing the words. And next thing I know, I'm out of my chair singing and dancing to the Lady Gaga medley!

@Djinnyeh: Please forgive my ignorance, but what does ROFL stand for?

Djinnyeh's picture

wow, these guys are great mood lifter!

I had a client b*tch me out tonight for not being psychic and knowing what to do in a situation I've never encountered... I spoke to the Client's on call staff, and THEY told me only half the info I needed (the rest NOT being implicit in this situation)

So I went and watched the guys sing Donde Este Santa Claus. How can I not be in a GREAT mood now???? Mike's flamenco is... ooooo... ROFL!

I'm NEVER back on track...I'm just pretending...heeheehee

Djinnyeh's picture

er... back on track... yeah...

am listening at work right now...

Djinnyeh's picture

we have to wait til April to love Charlie? But his voice is so beautiful... I need me some BASS!

Whyyyy???

Remember girls, you can love Charlie but you can't LOOOOVVVVE Charilie...

AngieTheCanuck's picture

I just double checked to make sure it wasn't me that officially hijacked the thread...lol (it wasn't) (though I did nothing to get it back on track...)

Anyway, to get back on track...I also listen to SNC as I'm falling asleep - I sleep next to a snorer, so I need lots of noise to drown him out! I have good earbuds and crank up the SNC!

DottieK's picture

Calm down ladies. You have to wait until April-something to love on Charlie. Charlie lovers need to stop turning every discussion thread into a Charlie love thread. LOL
Kidding,of course. Carry on. ;-)

Djinnyeh's picture

@Angie - there are women out there that consider ANY man fair game. I like these guys enough that I'd hate to see any of them hurt...

Of course, SOME of them are single. As am I.

*wink, wink, nudge nudge* to any of the single SNC guys reading this...

AngieTheCanuck's picture

That was my description of Charlie's voice! Glad to see y'all are paying attention! lol

I've tried deep breaths, but it just turns into hyperventilating...

(Of course I respect the fact that he's married - doesn't make his voice any less goosebump-inducing!)

Djinnyeh's picture

deep breaths, Angie. He is happily married and we have to respect that. Only allowed to use him for his voice... which has been fairly accurately defined by a fellow Chaser as a cello dipped in chocolate, if I remember correctly...

or was it the buttermilk fried chicken that has you drooling?

ROFL

abbigale11's picture

Not gonna lie, I'm liking the turn this discussion has taken. lol. I dig charlie.

AngieTheCanuck's picture

@Djinnyeh,,,yer killin' me here...

Djinnyeh's picture

@Angie

I KNOW, eh? I won't make him sing 24/7 tho... apparently he has a talent for one-liners, so cracking jokes would also be acceptable.

Wonder if I can pay him in food?... thinking of making buttermilk fried chicken on my next day off...

KristinC's picture

What is up with you Canadians? Am I going to have to come up there and whip all of you? The only person whose life needs to be set to HIS bass line is MINE! And, possibly, his wife's. :)

AngieTheCanuck's picture

Oh man....*mind goes off to wander*

Djinnyeh's picture

@Angie.... if I won millions of dollars, I'd pay him to just follow me around all day and set a bass line to my life...

AngieTheCanuck's picture

@Djinnyeh Just reading your words..."Charlie's version of Chicken Fried is pure heaven for you, eh?" made my heart race a little...

abbigale11's picture

LOL @ picturing @Djinnyeh hyped up on coffee with a power tool in hand.

Djinnyeh's picture

@Tina - so Charlie's version of Chicken Fried is pure heaven for you, eh?

Tonight, for a change of pace, I played with power tools while listening to SNC: My landlord wasn't home when I got off work, and I drank WAAAAAY too much coffee. So it seemed an opportune time to assemble the shelving unit I salvaged from work. I try and only play with power tools while my landlord is out... I get so tired of him curling up in a corner and crying...

I always have SNC (and other a capella groups, but mostly SNC ^__^) playing on my iPod when I'm in HPE class. Whether I'm biking or running. (Though right now my feet are injured somehow so I'm just down to biking.)
I also have to blast it while I'm driving in my car. My car's sound system = BEST way to listen to a capella. Especially since I ALWAYS have the bass turned all the way up and Randy & Charlie are giving me some nice bass lines to bob my head to. :-P
And when I clean, I usually switch back & forth between SNC and my country music. :) I love SNC and a ton of people tell me I'm way too obsessed (*gasp!* never!) but there's no way anyone could take away my country either. haha.
If I'm by myself, I ALWAYS sing along. Loudly. If other people are around, I sing along quietly. :P

CailinAingeal's picture

I listen to SNC while I am at work on my iPod, either on random or as a playlist. Since I work in a cubical jungle I only mouth the words while I am there. I haven't really been listening to them at the gym because the music seemed too slow compared to my other music. However, after reading the other comments I will have to try them out on the treadmill. When I am home I put the iPod in a docking station and play SNC while I clean or just as background music. Then of course I am singing right along with the guys. Most of my SNC collection and the solo CDs I only have in mp3 form. I am unable listen to them in the car until I buy an adaptor.
