Kristin, you are so right! Charlie is just awesome! I love his sense of humor and positive attitude. You can tell that he has to be so much fun to be around.

I love when Charlie gets cracked up in Gettysburg during Lion Sleeps Tonight. Seggie is acting like he is putting Hayden down for a nap and Charlie starts to lose it because Seggie is hilarious. I love how Charlie and Seggie interact/misbehave/have a good time while they perform.

Of course if the whole show was just Charlie walking out on the stage singing dom-de-dom and standing there smiling it would be worth the price of the ticket.

How are so many days passing with no posts on here? We know Charlie is a humble guy who really doesn't NEED all this attention and gushing, but he must know that *some* of us restrain ourselves from posting on this thread multiple times per day. Or per hour. Am I right? Hello?

AngieTheCanuck's picture

You did a good job, Kristin. Your cheque (sorry..."check") is in the mail.

KristinC's picture

I finally knew what to focus on when I shot Hi De Ho this time. :-D

AngieTheCanuck's picture

I would be a lot more productive during my workday if Charlie wasn't so incredibly spectacular in Hi De Ho...I don't know how many times I've watched it today.

I was going through my Gettysburg videos last night and had to come over here and show Charlie some love. I cannot wait to see what he has in store for us in Atlantic City!

I loved it in the Gettysburg video of HiDeHo, (after Charlie's little "fully-rehearsed" lyric memory lapse on Chicken Fried) when Charlie stands up straight after that long, loooowww note (#Basslove), and asks Walt what the next word is, and Walt whispers it in his ear. Hilarious!!! They are so good at making us laugh. His comedic timing is perfect. His bass voice is perfect. The classy way Charlie handles himself in every situation is perfect. His smile.... well, you know..
I am also so happy for Charlie and his wife having a beautiful new son - what a perfect joy! It is so kind of him to share pics of the little guy with us Chasers (we love babies and children!!! ) Thanks for entertaining us and sharing a bit of your life with us, Charlie!!

i still laugh at what he said for the intro to Hi De Ho when he said that "rightfully' he doesn't get to sing alot of words. Being able to laugh at yourself is an amazing character quality...just think if he passes that to his son! All around great guy...who can sing...and laugh...and even dance (Lion Sleeps Tonight...hilarious).

This is all so wonderful to read about Charlie. Just makes ya love him even more. What a fantastic class act you are, Charlie Mechling! #lyricsareoverrated

It is amazing how dedicated these guys are to their Chasers, even the ones that can't attend the show. That was so sweet of Charlie :)

LMAO! Penguins...yes, Coke commercials are extremely misleading.

AngieTheCanuck's picture

I wonder if there's a picture of Charlie on the phone with me in the multitude of pics floating around out there...?

KristinC's picture

Clarification: It was very sweet of Charlie to chat with Angie who was surrounded by her pet polar bears and MOOSE.

AngieTheCanuck's picture

THAT...was amazing. Charlie probably has no idea how talking to me on the phone for 2 minutes totally made my night! Heck, it made my WEEKEND! It was a total surprise to hear his voice on the phone that I was somewhat tongue-tied, and it was only after the call that I thought of things to say! Argh!

But, you're right - in the midst of all the hustle and bustle of the meet and greet line, that Charlie would take a couple of minutes of his time to talk to me was the sweetest thing to do.

Penguins live at the south pole, Kristin...can't believe all those Coke commercials you see...

KristinC's picture

@Laura (it was GREAT to meet you this weekend, BTW): Agreed, everything Charlie did was totally endearing. My sister told him in the M&G line that he can use sleep deprivation as an excuse for anything until Hayden is at least a year old!

I also wanted to say how wonderfully sweet, generous and accommodating Charlie was to take a minute to talk to Angie (all the way in the Great White North, surrounded by her pet polar bears and penguins) on my phone. The guys were getting ready to leave the M&G, it was 8 million degrees with 20 million percent humidity and they still had to drive to Atlantic City after the show, so I think it was exceptionally nice of him to say hi to her. Such awesome guys. Words cannot do them justice.

I thoroughly enjoyed your specially planned and rehearsed version of Chicken Fried!
Love your jokes and sense of humour, as usual :)

DaisyKary's picture

Charlie didn't mess up. That was planned. It took HOURS of rehearsal.
THANKS for a great show Charlie!!!

AngieTheCanuck's picture

How Charlie handled his little mishap is one of the many many things that make him so awesome. ?

laura_9's picture

Dear Charlie,

Forgetting the words in the song and your baby's birth month (ok, THAT was classic) was totally endearing. The dance moves in Lion Sleeps Tonight was hilarious. Your smile was infectious, as always. Also? The bass notes, the voice....just no words.
Thanks for an awesome concert.

We have missed Charlie A LOT. I mean, honestly, how much time does a new baby, tired wife and moving to a new home really take? :P We still love him, no matter how much he tweets or doesn't tweet!

?????

I had to go searching to the bottom of page TWO for this thread. No good. LOL

All of Charlie's fans are excited to see him on Friday! Charlie, we know it's hard to tear yourself away from that gorgeous new son of yours, and appreciate the sacrifices you (and everyone!) make to entertain us. Everyone who is going to Gettysburg, please let Charlie know how much he is loved!

(that is...if he IS going to Gettysburg...I guess I'll have to wait for the official report from the roving reporters attending the show!)

I heart Charlie!

Love
his smile - makes me weak in the knees
his laugh - so contagious
his puppybrows
his smolderingly gorgeous eyes *thud*
his sexy deep voice - especially in Hi De Ho *double thud*
his warm personality - he was so sweet and funny at the M&G
his great sense of humour and comedic talent - at the shows and on Twitter

And he's the one that came up with the name for the group!
He is an amazing dad and husband. It melts my heart to see the picture of him and Hayden.

You're awesome Charlie!! I would turn over a table for you any day! ;o) #basslove

AngieTheCanuck's picture

Simply an incredible video. Sends shivers up my spine...and it's not even my national anthem! I love the camera zooming in on Charlie as he's singing - very sexy...er...I mean...he is demonstrating fabulous vocal production.

With the events of this coming weekend, I wanted to post this appropriate video.
The reason I posted it here is, check out the Charlie scruff (and Walt's too)!

i was thinking the same thing recently (both that Charlie has gorgeous everythings and also about him leaving the wee babe) and i wanted to say:

Charlie. Thank you. Thank you for your sacrefice of this summer/fall as you have to be apart from your family. i am sure it is going to be bittersweet...hopefully not too bitter, though (we will try our best to make your concerts very sweet). You are amazing.

DottieK's picture

Charlie has the most gorgeous everything. :x

I mean....his voice, his mannerisms, his face, his hands, his smile, his laugh, Hayden is a beautiful baby and Julia could be a model. I'll bet even his new house is gorgeous.

AngieTheCanuck's picture

Charlie has the most gorgeous eyes. There. Just had to come here and say that.

AngieTheCanuck's picture

It was nice seeing that Charlie was back with everyone else at the Origins gig! I'm sure it's bittersweet - coming back to sing with the group he loves, but leaving his new family for a few days. It's tough. Thanks for sharing yourself with so many people, Charlie! I'm having serious SNC withdrawals, so I'm eagerly anticipating some new videos in a couple of weeks...

laura_9's picture

i am wondering the same thing. i simply cannot wait to see Charlie perform again...that smile. that voice. those one-liners. Bliss

KristinC's picture

How has it been a week since anyone has posted on this thread? Insanity!

KristinC's picture

Charlie is so generous to be sharing his new-fatherhood experiences with us. I get excited every time I see a new picture of Hayden come up the Twitter feed or on Facebook. That sweet little boy is giving me a toothache!
