  • concert tonight 12/4/11 rosemont theater

My wife and I bought 3 tickets in August from WTTW to take my 90 year old mother to this performance. She wears hearing aids and is partially blind. My mother and I both loved the concert. My wife couldn't attend (and I really didn't want to go either because of difficult/serious news that I had received on Friday), but I bet she would have loved it too!

The 3 standing ovations were well deserved, the crowd was left wanting (more!)

The final song, O HOLY NIGHT, had a few tears on my face, at first. The sounds were so perfect, they gave glory to God...And then it happened! I bet every Christian in the audience knows exactly what I am talking about! At first I thought it was the sound system. But it was throughout the song. I listened to the version being sold on this website, and the flaw is there....it must be on purpose? Everything else tonite was perfect!

[Before I continue, there was a song earlier, sung by 9 white guys and 1 African-American, that seemed a little insensitive to the Hispanic community, everywhere...the piece was flawlessly performed, and all (white's) laughed at the Mississippi, Italian on one side/ Hispanic on the other joke. The fact is the singer may not be either Hispanic or Italian, but he looks both! Secondly, in the Christmas medley, Kwanza and Haunicka appearred (I'm so sorry, it's late and these are not my traditions, and I know there are mis-spellings!) and were made fun of, but the line might not have been crossed, because of the ones speaking/singing were believeably followers of these traditions. Lastly, why not honor all traditions, instead of mockery?...unless the group itself is incapable? The audience, in my opinion, was given too much Santa and NO baby Jesus...]

In the final song/hymn, O HOLY NIGHT, the lead singer made some unexplained comical head movements and awkward facial expressions? What was that?? But this was merely a mild inappropriate distraction, for sucha beautiful hymn. On the way home, the offensive, serious flaw, was even heard by my mother! ...half deaf as she is!! We attempted to remember the website, and that's why I'm here.

My password is the flaw...and if you ask the manager to have me change it so he can tell you what the flaw is...I'd be happy to! Christian's (English speaking and singing) will feel insulted and offended! I'll be watching WTTW on August 8.... I highly suggest you fix the flaw.... or don't aire the version.

In the morning I could find out from my oncologist, whether my agressive cancer has returned (distressing news from Friday), the lump was thought to be only a hematoma instead of an aggressive tumor. This could be my last Christmas, in this life. Tonite's performance took me away from my earthly troubles. I know my savior and my God is not bothered by the flaw.

    All the Best,
    o holy night
