  • Straight No Chaser in the UK

Having seen SNC at the O2 supporting Barry Manilow last year I promised myself that I would go along to one of their own shows if they toured the UK.

Once the tour was advertised I booked tickets for Stevenage and took a friend who had no idea who or what they were about. I wanted to hear what her opinion would be with no preconceived thoughts of what to expect.

As I am the Live Music Exec for The Daily Mail and Mail on Sunday I am fortunate to see many live music acts but I have to say these guys were a breath of fresh air. Their own show was not only slick and professional but vibrant and fun. Both my friend and I were thoroughly entertained from beginning to end. In fact if anything it was a little too short for us as we could have listened to them a lot longer.

When a group is described as acappella it conjours up images of a bunch of ageing old men in a barbershop quartet. Well think again beacuse not only are these guys double a quartet plus one as they are nine very goodlooking, slick and classy looking gentleman but together they provide a sound that is music to the ears literally. Their performance is like the smoothest of wines decantered into a crystal clear sound that builds and builds into a sparkling performance that is as glorious and heady as the finest champage.

Will my friend and I go again? absolutely and most definitely cant wait till the next time they are over in the UK.

    All the Best,
