    Passing on the Chaser Love

I decided to something this past April that I thought I would regret!
After I finished the week volunteering in New Orleans I made my way to Baton Rouge to the Straight No Chaser concert. While at the concert I noticed the number of empty seats, and knew that there had to be a way to get Louisiana more Chasers!

My Plan, knowing how much Straight No Chaser has put a smile on my face in just over a year and so many others not to mention the Chasers I will forever be friends with! Knowing how much NOLA is still in need of a large amount help and hearing stories firsthand the past week of everything Homeowners are still going through my plan was to just share the Chaser love and plant a seed of hope, and maybe even a Chaser or two. Knowing darn well that rent a car companies don’t always do the best of job cleaning out the cars from past customers I was going to use this to my full advantage.

On my drive back to New Orleans the next day to return the rent a car I made a pit stop! I ran into the local Wal-Mart in NOLA to grab a Sharpie and a pack of post-it notes, and thankfully they had one more CD of SNC With a Twist.

First I opened the CD and wrote “Go to sncmusic.com for more info” “My gift to you, the case is under the driver’s seat” “my favorite song is number…” “Hope this music brightens your day like it does mine. ENJOY!” And I put it into the CD player.

I wrote my email address on a post-it note and put it in the CD case, yes I know that it probably wasn’t the smartest choice to pass out my email but, I just knew it would all work out!

Sitting in the airport waiting to start my journey home, I began to think to myself “what a stupid idea, of course the car cleaner outers are going to find it!” And I just settled with the fact that it was one of those moments in one’s life that they don’t tell anyone about and hopefully one day will forget!

So I did just that! Until now, I got and an email from a lady that’s a new owner of a Straight No Chaser CD! The email started off with,"perfect timing, or God at work?"
All I wrote back was, "their music is a blessing to so many of us."
And then she wrote back about all the the stuff going on in her life and being a single mother of two little ones, and trying to figure out life.
God has a wonderful way of working in people’s life! A family of Chasers is born!

Brittain -

I love your random act of kindness and great idea for paying it forward! What a wonderful play to help someone new enjoy Straight No Chaser. I am totally stealing this idea - it will be a great use for all of the extra SNC CDs I have. I have an idea of the perfect situation to do it in too.

Thanks for the inspiration, and have a wonderful week.

Brittain!! What an awesome, loving idea!! You truly and unselfishly have spread some Chaser love through your random act of kindness. I cried reading your post...it's so wonderful to see goodness when there is so much bad in the world. Thanks for sharing such a great story with us and I'm so glad you got a response from the recipient of your kindness!!! Well done!!!

That is so cool, Brittain! I agree with Stacey, way to pay it forward. After all the Guys do so much for us! I do my best to share my love of SNC with anyone I can! =]

This is a shiny post, Brittain! Way to share the love. If I ever have the opportunity to rent a car, I will do the same. In the meantime, I am secretly buying exta copies of the eps and sending them annonymously to some of the people I took to the 3 SNC concerts in March. Of course, they'll figure out who sent them... I am the crazy fan one...

Brittain, sharing the love & joy that SNC brings you by *paying it forward* was such a sweet & thoughtful gesture! But then again you're the person who was in Louisiana to rebuild houses in New Orleans so I'm never surprised by your generosity. #ChaserLove
