Thanks Christine - really appreciate it! Sheri - only wear the Tiara on special occasions. Much thanks to every one for all their kind words during this month. I was surprised, humbled and blessed with all of the festivities here. And with all of this being said - July is over and now we are into August.....I wonder who gets to have the spot light this month for August. Who ever you are - enjoy the ride!

Dave, sorry I didn't stop by to post here earlier, even though I congratulated you on Twitter. Well deserved!

Congratz & welcome Dave to these hallowed halls!

I kinda wish that we'd known they were deleting everything from the old site. Those conversations were HILARIOUS, and I would've saved 'em... #nostalgic

Lol Dave on the rambling. I know you never do that... I actually wasn't initially involved in the bribery wars but became involved after Ryan mentioned me along with you guys in the blog about Seggie's nut allergy. Congratulations, Dave! Love you much!
DaveWhite's picture

lol Shaina.......you were busy and SNC was only secondary back then to you, right???? just kidding

Wow. You two remembered MUCH more than I do! All I remember is that Erin started it! XD

oh ya.....I do remember a picnic type theme......and I remember now bringing up Chicago because I'm a fan of them also. I do have a good memory (and be careful of the age thing S ;o) ): Chicago Transit Authority - 1969, "Does Anybody Really Know What Time"/Beginnings"/"Questions 67 & 68" although it wasn't until 1975 until "Saturday in the Park"

I'm remembering things only slightly differently, Dave, although most of that is accurate, including (to the best of my knowledge) you being the first to bring cookies. However, I believe the bidding war started out regarding trying to get them to come perform in our cities during the summer. There was that whole "Saturday in the Park" thing, which actually *was* the Fourth of July that year. (Think Chicago - the band - Chasers old enough to remember them.) Somehow that came into it. And I'm sure Erin was from Iowa. She was in school, yes - Iowa University? University of Iowa? We seem to have lost her along the way. Piece of trivia: that's when we first found out Seggie has nut allergies. Ryan was kind enough to inform us of that just in case people really did bring cookies. When I took homemade ones to the first concert I attended, I made sure to keep one container separate and mark it with a red circle with a slash through it over Seggie's name. Your memory is pretty good for an old man, Dave! :-p :-D

sorry - I kinda got to rambling (which *never* happens with me) away with that post (and 2000 characters - ran out) and didn't get the chance to say thank you.... Thank you SJ and Alexsandra!!!!!

Oh.....and that Elyria concert was the 3rd concert that Tyler and Seggie performed in. And they didn't miss a beat. They were literally in the group for all of a couple weeks? A class act, for sure!

Great memory Shaina and S! If I recall, "Cheesecake producing cows" was something that Ryan Ahlwardt had brought up. Yep - cookies, brownies, steaks & beer. I remember Erin - she was a college student in St. Louis? S - isn't it amazing and also fun to watch the growth of not only this web site, but the SNC group of guys, in general? Yep, there were only about 6 or 7 of us that only posted on a very (daily) regular basis. For those of you that don't recall or know what we are talking about (the bribery wars) - around spring of 2009, SNC announced that they were going to be doing a Fall/Winter tour - but wouldn't say where and when (yes, they still teased then). So there were about 4or 5 of us trying to bribe the guys (actually Ryan Ahlwardt at the time was very communicative [right word?] at that time) to come to our respective city/areas first. There were many wagers of sweets (cookies, cakes, brownies, pies, cheesecakes, cheesecake producing cows & etc.). Then the ante would be raised with Steaks (me), Beer (me) - which by the way, S profoundly rejected as a viable bribe - due to breaking liquor laws (could never find that law). Well, none of us won the bribery wars in our little group, but I did come in first (in our group) when SNC made their 3rd stop at Elyria, OH on Sept 26th, where I attended my very 1st SNC concert.. Bloomington, IL was 1st stop and Wabash, IN was 2nd stop. I would hope that someone would correct me here if I'm wrong, but I do believe that I was the first fan to take the guys a a tray of cookies for that Fall/Winter Tour http://www.sncmusic.com/photo/lorain-community-college-92609-14/ . After that show, the guys were presented with many baked goods. Shortly there after, they requested no more sweets. Seems the dry cleaners were shrinking their suits and they didn't want to take the chance of gaining a pound or two. I think thats how I remember it. S, Shaina? I think Kathy was also involved in the wars - comments?
Shaina's picture

"Cheesecake producing cows" had something to do with those bribery wars, right? And, I recall, something about cookies and steaks... And maybe beer...
S. Brandon's picture

Well, we were both around for the first website (the one before this one), which was after the guys got their offer from Atlantic but long before they had the following they do now. It was before they toured at all, right? If you recall, you and me and a couple of other people in involved in the bribery wars (Erin from Iowa, originally, and is that when Shaina showed up?) -- were practically the only ones who posted comments on that site all summer. Kind of hard to believe now that there were so few people there then. ;-)

I love this! Wahoo, congrats, Dave-o! =D

Congrats! So well deserved! Love the podcasts and funny pics!

awwwwwwwww - now you all have me blushing :o) BUT I LOVE KISSES!!!! hehehehehe Dottie - have to comment - what you say about supporting the guys and helping other fans/chasers to become more familiar with "Straight No Chaser" is so true. Its amazing how far a little post on FB will go or how far a dozen or so autographed Christmas CDs will go as Christmas gifts. Kind of funny when one of my friends said to me, "Dave, the cd is great, but the seal on the case was gone." I forgot to tell some of my friends to look close inside. One of my friends thought that the autographs were just part of the printing....lol S - thank you! But just to keep thing straight - I only started following the guys in November of 2008. But we were both around for the "bribery wars"....lol

S. Brandon's picture

Way to go, Dave! I know you've been around almost since the beginning of the group's professional career. You've done a lot to support the guys and other Chasers (before that term was even coined), and it's much appreciated. Official acknowledgment is well-deserved.
