S, many of the people who sell on ebay are larger retailers who sell elsewhere also.
And, they were offering discounts here if you bought 5 or more, & then there was the free shipping offered later on purchases of 25.00 or more. It's just like a lot of other things that you can find discounted prices on if you look hard enough.
Ah yes, midnight, the fireworks, hoots, & probably gunfire are going on out there. I'm glad I'm safe & sound in my snug house over here!
I was on itunes just now updating my snc fanchat podcasts, & you can buy the dvd for download for only 9.99, or rent it for 3.99. It's amazing how technology is making things more accessible for more people!
Donna, cheaper on Amazon makes sense for a big retailer. What I don't get are how people can sell them for less on eBay.

Retailers who buy large quantities of merchandise get discounts, which is why you can find different prices on things from different locations.
That's also why you can find deals on shipping, high volume businesses get discounts.
I was just over on Amazon, & they're selling the box set for 27.99 with free shipping.
The bargains are out there if you look for them.
But why would anyone be selling them for less? Isn't the point of re-selling to make a profit?
I've discovered that the box sets are available cheaper on ebay.
We've learned that it doesn't matter how much we buy them for, they guys are taken care of, so I've discovered that you can get the box sets on ebay for less then they are here if anyone still needs them.

They are saying it will still include the extra CD. But they also gave me the option of canceling the order.
Which I would do if I decide to order from Amazon. (And if I do I will take Diva Donna up on the mp3 offer ---thanks for that!!)

Amazon Canada was only showing 3 in stock when I last checked, with "more on the way".
The worst part....they said it may take up to a month. (That was the email from Atlantic Records)

They started as giving it to the 1st 1000 orders, & then expanded it to 1500, but I don't think it's still available.
I just put one set in a cart, & when they were still available, there was a listing under the box set showing the other cd would be included, but it's not showing that.
But Alexsandra, if it's still coming....
I got the email that mine shipped 11/2, so I am checking my mailbox tomorrow! Yee!

The photo album is absolutely ~ A*D*O*R*A*B*L*E~ Cutie-pies all the way around! :)
My one complaint about this awesome box set is that I don't get the awesome cover art that accompanied the original CDs. I mean, how is Christmas Cheers complete without that picture on the back cover, right? ;)
I'm in California and my box set arrived today too! I didn't get a UPS shipping notice, so I wasn't sure how soon it would get here. What a great surprise!
On a shallow note, I really love the packaging: the shininess, the color, the snowflakes, the font, everything - and I'm a picky pain in the butt about stuff like that!
Every year, I get annoyed with how early the holiday decorations show up in stores and commercials. I try to hold out until November 1st before I bust out any holiday music, but I don't think that I can wait another week before I listen to all the CDs and watch the DVD!
The only thing that would have made this even better was if they'd included the rest of the guys, Dan, Steve, & Mike I! Dan just left & Steve & Mike I are on at least the 1st cd, so seems it would've been appropriate to include them all.
But, unfortunately, Like many other things, I didn't get a vote on this.....
Regardless, love it anyway! It's a great looking set, they did a good job with this!

EileenR, somewhere I read something from one of the guys about a possibility of them returning to Atlantic City. I'm hoping for a different venue tho, like one of the hotels nearer the boardwalk.
The box set as well as the pre-ordered with a twist are coming from Aurora, IL, a town in the same county I live in.
Listening to Hark the Herald Angels Sing is helping me get in a fall/holiday mood - even though the highs are still almost 90 here in Houston...but a cold front is coming our way!

It came, it came! The UPS man brought it tonight, even though I never got an e-mail. :-) I'm going to try to talk my sister into watching it at her house, because her TV is bigger. :-D

Watched the DVD with my kids tonight. My son fell asleep, woke up & made me replay "Can't Take My Eyes Off of You" b/c it's his favorite. My kiddoes all want SNC to come back to Atlantic City next summer so they can go see them. ( I didn't spring for 4 extra tix to the Baltimore show next month.)
