What a great start to the tour.  Alliston was sold out, and the guys were in top form.  It was a fanstastic afternoon, and the audience had a very high percentage of first-timers.

What impressed me as much as the talent and energy of "our guys", is the fact that World Vision is sponsoring this tour...what a great partnership!

Thanks SNC for bringing your gifts to this side of the border.  Blessings as you make your way west...

I'd love to hear other stories from the rest of the concerts!

Erin, thanks for the positive thoughts from north of the border! :-)

@Erin ~ "First timers...were all blown away" I'm pretty sure that happened to most of us here (well, those of us that hangout here, on fb, and twitter. Blown away and totally hooked! I'm just looking forward to the next album that they will hopefully be recording in March and then maybe a promotional tour! :)

Hey guys!

Just wanted to say thank you so much for touring the Great White North this month. Playing the smaller venues really gave us a chance to get to know you as artists and make a connection with you. For whatever reason, gaining popularity in Canada seems to be a bit more difficult than it is in the US for a lot of groups so allowing us to be that up close and personal was a great thing. I've seen you a few times now (it's a yearly tradition now) but a lot of the people around me were first timers and it was pretty clear that they were all blown away.

Anytime you'd like to come back, you are more than welcome! A spring, early summer tour would give you a great chance to see another beautiful view of the country.

Thanks again!

Dottie - thanks for the link...
that would be part of the reason we think so highly of these guys! I'm so glad they enjoyed themselves as much as those of us in the audience did.

How can they make six syllables sound so great???!!! ARRRRRGH, LOVE THEM!!

A current photo would have been nice.

No dice on the kidnapping, I'm afraid. I came home for my 30lb cat (instand roadblock), but she was napping so cutely I couldn't disturb her, so The Nefarious Plan fell through right at the outset!

Ah well, c'est la vie. In retrospect is it really fair of me to deprive the rest of the world of SNC for my own selfish pleasure? Even if I'd give them awesome footrubs and some excellent home cooking in exchange for their serenading me?

Besides, a caged bird's singing is somehow less sweet...

But maybe the perks will entice one or more of them to come visit and sing voluntarily? Guys, if you are reading this, I make a to-die-for pepper steak! Pretty good roast beef too... my gravy is slowly improving with practice. And soon it will be be BBQ season (as soon as the 5 or so inches of snow we got tonight melt, that is). Mmmmm... I can imagine a nice SNC party in the backyard, beautiful singing and good food and me in a state of bliss...

From the other side of the border, now we know how you felt as we posted our discussions, our pictures and our videos. I have the guys as my ringtone and often call myself when I need a fix (that means that I actually had to learn my phone number first.) Thanks for keeping up the tradition and hope to stop shaking soon, time for another call. By the way, thanks for posting the articles as well.

Loved reading that article Angus.

How can they possibly say that Mike's moon-walk is not so good. I just love how he does it. Now we know Jerome and Mike steal the stage with their solo's. It was quite a write up for them!

As one of the women in the row behind Djinnyeh (although not the originator of the kidnap plot!), I have to say that I totally agree with her assessment of last night's concert.

I can't make up my mind which part of the concert was my favorite - there were so many great songs and fantastic entertainment, and crowd appeal for all ages!

Apparently I've become a Chaser without realizing it?

DaisyKary's picture

@Djinnyeh Welcome to you Saskatoonian. You now live in Chaserville. :)

SingForMe's picture

Djinnyeh ~ Sounds like you are now officially a Chaser! One concert is all it usually takes, at least for me anyway. And since my first concert was a year ago May, I've been drifting ever since! :)

Terry_4's picture

Djinnyeh - drifting off into SNC oblivion can last for some time (while wearing the perma-smile/ perma-grin). So glad you had a great experience seeing them live. No matter how much you watch the video's or youtube, seeing them live is an excitement that won't go away for some time! Hope you can see them again soon!

Diana L.'s picture

Djinnyeh - from the twitter feed, it sounds like the guy loved Saskatoon too! So glad you enjoyed the evening...doesn't it just make you want to do it all over again, right away? I'm so thankful for the videos on here and youtube - so I can have a "taste" of the live performance whenenver I need a fix.

Keep us posted on the kidnapping :)

Just got home from their concert in Saskatoon (which is, apparently, a city name that was really fun for these guys to say a lot).

Wow... just... wow. They were sold out, received two well-deserved standing ovations, and are the subject of a kidnap plot from the women in the row behind me.

If I am lucky, the kidnappers can spare one (preferably Mike, but I'm not too choosy) for me! He could just follow me around all day singing... *sigh*

Since that is not feasable, I've already called my family west of here and suggested they get tickets for the Vancouver or Victoria show if they can. I know I'll be watching for future tours and stops in MY area!

Seeing SNC live was amazing, the music was so beautiful I wanted to just close my eyes and stay there forever. But some of them are such hams, I didn't even want to blink for fear I'd miss their antics! Or their funny dance moves... they obviously LOVE being up there.

Well, I am off to play their cd and drift away...

@Angus ~ Thanks for the article!! It's always so nice to read about them. I love the line "group hug of male harmonies". Very nice.

And I love that they put up the link for the Like A Prayer video!!

Hi Diana,

I've been fortunate enough to see them twice before tonight - in Toronto in 2008, and Montreal in 2009. Tonight was great since I didn't have to drive to see them, but now I really wish that I was heading to Montreal to see them tomorrow.

SNC had a great performance tonight, and it proved to my friends that they are really that much better to see in person. I think that on their next visit here we will be able to convince more friends to come out and see them.

I'll really have to try to get to Atlantic City this summer.

Great article! Thanks for sharing it with us.

Good article! They're funky and rebuild songs with a group hug of male harmonies. I want a group hug!!

Angus, that's a fantastic article - thanks for posting the link. Let us know how the concert goes...you're in for a real treat! Have you seen them before?

Can't wait for tonight's Ottawa show! Only 4 hours and a bit to go!

Erin - glad that you had a good time, they never disappoint! My favourite part of bringing "newbies" is to see their face at intermission. Smiles always abound.

S. - the pics are up now...

Just got back from Toronto where the guys were in fine form. Another sold out show with a great percentage of first timers.Everytime I get a group together we always make sure we bring a few people who haven't seen you live yet. This was my third concert and I'm always blown away!

I love that you're working with World Vision - I've sponsored children over the years and been involved in their 30 hour famines growing up - great organization!

My group was really enjoying the beards - all that was missing was a plaid shirt and maybe this song - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5zey8567bcg - ok, maybe not the song. It's just what I think of when I think of beards and plaid shirts. I'm a Monty Python fan, you'll have to forgive me.

My only complaint is how quicly the time passed. I'm also sad that I have yet to meet you guys. When you're at the mercy of your driver and early morning workers you have to let some things go. One day though I'm sure I'll get to say HI - Guess that means you'll have to come back eh?

All the best for the rest of the tour - Stay warm and enjoy!!
