Don't follow team sports much, as a general rule - but this hockey play-off season becomes more interesting, with each game....so far, both teams seem to do their best work on home ice....tomorrow's game in Vancouver should be instructive!
Go 'Nucks!

Vancouver Riot:
When I attend a community event, I DO NOT pack a mask and a molotov cocktail in my handbag. Apparently, many "instigators" did - and (sadly, but predictably) they were joined by some over-boozed stupid boys (& a few girls as well). The resulting mayhem made for spectacular video, which is still appearing on the international news.
Here at home - the video of ordinary citizens who tried to intervene....the video of the first responders....to the 5-6,000 volunteers who showed up at 7.00 am on Thursday armed with brooms, shovels & garbage bags - is NOT good video - NOT appearing on international news......though it's the REAL YVR story!)
Canucks & Bruins both had great seasons....amazing play-off series....Bruins played just a tad bit better!
The riot had NOTHING to do with hockey. The perpetrators planned in advance, and came prepared - and were, in the main, stupid enough to post photos online, so they will be identified and prosecuted (VPD are overwhelmed by the the emails & calls they've received...several villains have actually turned themselves in).
Wednesday at 8.30 p.m. PST I was shocked and appalled and horrified - as the facts have become more fully reallized, in the past 48 hours - I'm SOOO proud of my fellow citizens (and the criminals who planned in advance, and the stupid youngsters who blindly followed..... will get their justice, in the fullness of time)
I teach until 9 on Mondays & Tuesdays (and Saturday is the year-end recital, so all my teens are in panic mode - nothing like a deadline to focus the mind!).
Missed game 6 entirely - but my daughter texted each goal.
Not surprised by the result (and CBC's Early Edition from YVR had a discussion about ice surfaces, as did Radio Q...hmmm).
Never mind - game 7 in YVR - they'll be good to go. That Tim (?) Bruins goalie, sure is something, eh?
Go B's (runs away quickly and hides) lol...I don't watch many sports, but this sure is an exciting series. Gotta show my Boston Pride!
Oh boy, game 7 it is. Go Canucks!!
Apparently...got this from a friend - "Just heard that TD Garden never prepared their ice surface properly. Was relatively watery compare to our GM Place. Unfair advantages. No wonder our defense men can't skate properly on the road. =("
That just means that we are meant to win it at home!! Bring it on!!
Well, Seggie is apparently in support of the Canucks! I may be making this up, but whatever! I'll appoint him the SNC Canuck fan!!!
That's what my friend predicted as well, that they'll win in game 7.
I know, there're more Canadians on the Bruins team than ours. But I don't care! I love my Canucks!! Haha.
Go Canucks! Bring home the CUP!!!!!!!!
My husband is hoarse....my neighbours are still blowing their air-horns.
I'm guessing the 'Nucks will lose the next game in Boston (Luongo, especially, ALWAYS does his best work on home ice!).
Game 7, though.....!?! should bring Lord Stanley's cup HOME!
Ironically - half the Canucks are NOT Canadian....and half the Bruins ARE (several from Quebec!).....the NHL remains a mystery, to me!
Haha, I watched the game at the Canoe Club with my friends. Lots of screaming going on, think I've lost my voice. It was definitely hard to watch, such a nerve wrecking game. But they pulled through!! One more to win!!!
I'm a huge Canucks fan!! I was just afraid the other Chasers might get upset or annoyed with this. But you're totally right, we need balance :)
Go Canucks Go!!
Appropriate, Tori? Music may well be one of the very best things in life - but 'tis not the only thing! We all need a little balance....
I can't bear to watch - I've been sitting on my back porch with a glass of wine, enjoying a beautiful evening in Qualicum Beach - listening to my husband's exclamations from the living room (and I've got a couple of neighbours who blow really obnoxious horns when the 'Nucks score!).
Go Canucks Go! I'm sure all of the guys in SNC feel the same! We know Walt does! :)
Hi Hilary!!!
Great to find a fellow Canuck Chaser from Victoria, BC on the site!!
Not sure if it's appropriate to have this thread here, but...
GO 'NUCKS GO!!
