When tickets went on pre-sale back in the day, I bought tickets to take my Mom to the early (3 pm) Hershey concert this month for her birthday. Unfortunately it looks like I won't be able to fly out after all :( I know I don't have to explain to you all how bummed I am about this.
If you all could take a moment and wish her happy birthday at the concert I would +really+ appreciate it. I know it would mean a lot to her, since I can't be there. She'll be the short (~ 5 foot tall) grey&white haired lady sitting 3rd row center. I'm trying to convince her to have a nametage that says 'I'm Redhead's Mom'. I also told her she has to go through the autograph line - if someone could grab a pic that would be great.
I know how great Chasers are - thanks for helping make it a special day for her.

+bump+
Still looking for the Chasers who were so nice to my mom.

So glad she had a good time! I ended up getting tickets at the last minute & zipping up to Hershey with my kids. Sorry I didn't catch up with your mom, but it sounds like she was in good hands with the rest of the Chasers!
Hope I get to meet you some time!
Hershey Chasers -
I'm a little choked up, so please excuse that this isn't one of my most erudite posts.
You guys are so wonderful. Thank you +so much+ to the folks who found my Mom & wished her happy birthday. She had a wonderful time at the show and your good wishes really made her day. I appreciate you all stepping in when I couldn't be there. Chasers are a special breed.
She didn't get everyone's name, but special thanks to Terry, John, and Oldest Chaser, the nice gal who shared the glow stick, and the fabulous person working the show who assisted Mom's show companion to her seat. Please chime in so I know who you all are :)
Mom says the show was absolutely spectacular, and has already sent me a few pics. She got to see in person what I had been telling her all along - that the guys are tremendous & talented and that the shows are so much fun. I'm kind of a little envious that you all got more Christmas songs than we did here in the wild west ;) Now she understands why I listen to Christmas songs in July.
I have to tell you all about the joy you brought to her friend. Naomi is 92 and in poor health - she is going blind and is hard of hearing, as well as having suffered at least one very serious heart attack and needing oxygen (but was apparently too proud to bring it to the show). As a result, she is pretty much homebound and only gets out of the house to go to the Dr. This was a very special treat for her. Being up front allowed Naomi to see and hear the show well. The guy's wonderful singing brought back memories of dating her husband, who was in an a cappella group, in their teens all those years ago. Mom says she hasn't seen Naomi that happy and animated for years. Thanks again to the Chaser who helped them get to their seats.
In this case it seems I gave a greater gift by not being there.

I told mom to keep an eye out for you. She will be there 3rd row front.

Everyone -
My Mom will be there in her red IU hoodie (it doesn't say Mom), so look for the short lady w/grey hair third row center and in the meet & greet line. Please say hi and wish her happy birthday. Thanks!

I'm sorry I won't get to meet you too. I'd appreciate any pics you take at the show.

Red! So sorry you won't be able to be at the Hershey show!! You can count on the Chaser brigade to welcome your mom with open arms!!! I'm sure I'll be snapping photos. I'll make sure you get any that I do!

Thanks so much! I really wanted to meet you all too, but circumstances have conspired against me. I know she will enjoy meeting other Chasers.
I'm trying to convince Mom to wear her 'IU Mom' sweatshirt (my baby bro has 2 undergrad degrees and is currently in a grad program in Bloomington) if she can find it. I'll give you an update on that after I next speak with her.

...still pouting a bit...
Sorry you can't make the show. Mom (Oldest Chaser), John & I will be at the early show. I believe we are in row K left side (facing the stage). Tell your Mom to look for a short (4'10") older lady with gray & black hair with her 2 escorts. If she likes she can go thru M&G with us. Can you tell us Mom's first name or should we just call her Mom?
Awww, that stinks that you won't be able to make it :( My husband & I would find her, but we're going to the late show!!
This is my 2nd show and 1st as a "chaser"....hopefully we will get to meet some more of you there...?
If you had 5 tickets you couldn't use, my kids & I would gladly buy them from you & escort your mom to the show!
Seriously, I am sure you are beyond disappointed. If I somehow get tix for the show, I will definitely look for your mom. If I don't get there, I'm sure other Chasers will get the job done!
Aw man, that sucks! I wanted to meet you. That's a great birthday present for your mom although I'm sure she wishes you were with her.
