The people of Iowa have been discussing it, and we think you need some snow for your Winter/Christmas concert tomorrow night in Iowa City, IA. So we have placed an order for between 6-12" of snow which will be delivered over the next 48 hours. Just hoping we can actually make it from the Quad Cities.
Hoping to see you guys tomorrow night!
Darrell

I think all that crazy weather is heading my way - hooray Ontario Canada! We've been pretty lucky thus far so I guess it was only a matter of time. My co-workers laughed at me last year when I won walking poles (well they're ski poles) at our Christmas party. They came in super handy last year for climbing snow banks and such on my half hour walk to work.
Drive safely and bundle up if you're going outside. Always better to drive slowly and cautiously rather than hurry and have issues.
Jelly, you mean you didn't know some of us had magical powers that cause these awful temps and so much snow?
Shania, yup. Oh to go back to being a little kid when frreezzzinnnggg cooolllddd temps and snow snow snow was fun. I have a love/hate relationship with that kind of resilience. *Curses the side effects of the weather*
this is all kinda creeoy how you knew this was going to happen... lol
If you have tickets to this concert and plan on attending, I ask you please, please be careful and take extra care. I come from a town were we get zero snow and when it does snow, this town shuts down. I'm sure that is not the case here, but either way . . . be carefull!!
Sorry to here your sad news, Darrell. If I were in your shoes I too would have been disappointed. I do however have a suggestion. I knew I would not be able to check out SNC in concert and I also knew it was time to renew my membership (overdue for years) with my local PBS station so I ordered the PBS special, SNC DVD. I'm hoping I will get it before Christmas. I was able to make the charitable contribution for this holiday season and receive a special gift, SNC PBS DVD. It's just a suggestion.
Well it's official, not going. Really bummed out.
My friend and I (and her husband as a tag-along) have been looking forward to this concert since it was announced. Now...it's a no go. She's stuck in Detroit trying to get back from a business trip, the roads are nasty here in CR, and I heard from a friend in IC that she's not going because the roads are bad there as well. And no way to get our tickets to anyone that could use them. Please say you'll come back so we can make it to the next concert???
Unfortunately no way to get them to anyone in Iowa City. Wife is on the way home now, will decide whether we are going based on her experience with the road conditions on the way home. Trust me for us to not make it, the roads will have to be really bad. I have 4x4 on the truck, but that doesn't mean anything when it comes to ice on the roads.
I keep seeing things posted about people not being able to get to the Iowa show -- darned shame. Anyway to sell/give your tickets to someone else? :-\
I don't know if we are going to make it. It is pretty nasty here in the QC. I was prepared to head to Iowa City in heavy snow, but this sleet stuff is just way too dangerous. Figures. I really really wanted to see the show.
That's true, Lauren. I've only been out in the snow a few times. It's nice to look at but not so nice to walk in all the time.
Heh, sorry about the whole blizzard thing. Didn't know that they actually forcasted a blizzard in Iowa City! Odd coincidence...
No kidding. Some of the guys are going to be in for a rude awakening when they come back home. COLD COLD COLD and SNOW SNOW SNOW after such a mild November-it will make the winter seem that much shorter, but makes the cold seem that much worse. Drive carefully.
Shania-snow is pretty and white but it's so easy to get sick of it real fast...especially if you have to be out in it.
ahaha what?! its hard and cold and painful!! i cant even imagine any lower then the 20 it was in bigbear... but it is pretty, and fire's kinda pretty... lol
But snow is pretty and white.
at least we have fires and earthquakes lol
Oh, dear! :) If you're lucky, the guys will get snowed in and will have to stay and perform in Iowa City!
Man, it's fantasies like this that make me wish we had snow in Los Angeles. :P
Actually funny that you mention that because they are calling for a blizzard on Wednesday. 50mph winds... :)
Hmmm... Snow... That sounds lovely! :) Just as long as it's not a blizzard!
Everyone drive carefully!
HAPPY WINTER!!!!!!!!!!!!
