First of all how can you be in love with 10 guys at once and just be so uplifted every time you hear and see them? I just came back from the Saturday night show in AC and as always it was amazing. I love how more of the guys are getting to talk ( like Seggie) and have more solos. I had a chance to talk to a few chasers and I was amazed at how many shows some people had been to. So it got be thinking - how many shows has the average chaser seen? I know I am a neophyte. I became a fan in December 2009. I saw my first show last spring at the Nokia theater in Manhattan and I was hooked! I've seen them 5 times and will make it 6 on Tuesday at the Beacon.
Anyone else care to share??

Hi Dottie,
Thanks for bringing this post back to life! It is fun to see how insane ( I mean committed) we are to SNC. I think there must be some post hypnotic suggestion in ther songs. I met a man in AC last summer who said he has seen them 40 times. I find that hard to believe but who knows.
I'll be up to at least 8 by the end of the summer unless I can convince someone to go with me to AC in between this week and Labor Day.
*claps at Carla* Impressive. And I'm jealous.
Umm shows total... let me count.....(a few minutes elapse) from the first time I saw them in Royal Oak MI in 2009, I have seen them, if I counted right, 16+ shows. I have a bunch more for this year. Have seen them on both coasts and many in between. I have been a fan since I saw the 12 days video in 2007and bought a copy of the Live at the MAC DVD.
Carla
Jennifer I am so jealous of you right now.....too many to count, what!
@DanaEbstein I know how you feel, lucky you two shows! I can't wait to hear all about it.
I honestly lost count after last Summer in AC and the Fall Tour!!
wow kelli, that's impressive. I wish I was closer so I could catch some of the AC action.
So far I have yet to see them live BUT, I am making up for lost time this fall with 2 shows!!! My first will be in Nashville (home) and the 2nd one will be in Evansville, IN (just 2.5 hrs away) I CAN NOT WAIT!!!
I am really enjoying reading everyone's stories on this thread!
Kelli....I plan to be at that show in Roanoke & maybe Norfolk too!
Brittain...I can tell you are excited! I'm excited for you!!
I have never seen SNC live, but that will on change on December 7th 2011 they are coming to Seattle!!!!!! If you cant tell I am so excited, I talk about it daily that I drive my family crazy!!!! I have been a fan since the YouTube videos but a chaser since November 2010, and by the looks of it, its not going to stop any time soon!
Saw them for the first time on vacation in Hilton Head, SC March 2010. We were channel surfing and came across the local PBS station (THANK YOU Savannah Georgia PBS!!) airing "Live in New York" and we were spellbound, watching these 10 guys who sang like angels.
When I got home; there was a post on the Harrah's Facebook page with a photo of 10 guys and asked the question, "Who are they?". I immediately recognized them as the acapella group from the PBS show so I googled drinking phrases (that was all I remembered...lol) and finally found them on the Georgia PBS station program list. I was the first person to answer the Harrah's question right and I asked..."Are they coming to AC??!!". Harrah's said to stay tuned for a big announcement the next day and when we saw they were spending the summer in AC, my mom and I got tickets for one of their first shows. We fell in love, immediately!! We came home, bought tickets for 3 more shows in AC and 2 new Chasers were born! After AC, we got tickets for Baltimore, the 2 Thanksgiving weekend Caesar's shows and NYE. Oh yeah, now the hubbys are Chasers too...lol.
In 2011....we were at Gettysburg; have tickets for 7 AC shows (so far, since we only live 45 min. away) and for the fall tour, the hubby agreed to drive 5.5 hours to Norfolk, then 5-6 hours the next day to Roanoke VA, then 5-6 hours home from there. We also got tickets for the early show at Hershey and are hoping for another NYE show somewhere close enough by car or train.
So, with the 8 shows I saw in 2010 plus the 11 shows we have tickets for this year...that will put my total at 19. I like even numbers though so I'm sure I'll add another AC show in there somewhere...lol. Plus, I'm still holding out hope for NYE (please)!! Oh yeah....I'm not a young, single girl either...I'm a 48 year old, happily married woman...who is in love with 10 men who sing like angels and treat me like an old friend when they see me. What's not to love about that??
hahaha Dave- I thought you said you werent any good at Jeopardy!
Considering I became a chaser in FEBRUARY, and I *probably* will have seen 5 shows by the end of this year, I figure that's doing pretty good showing the guys some love. :)
..."who are chasers acting silly"?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'm at 6 shows now and will be at 8 by the end of the year. I think Carla, Kary, & Rosa have some high numbers
Sorry, too many "R's". I got confused. It's not a recognized letter where I come from, ya know.
we must not be, because it's spelled M-A-N-D-E-R-R-R-R......not m-a-n-d-a-r-r-r....
in other news...I'm in the market for a new chaser best friend....
@xmandarrr- who are you? we're not even friends. LOL...that's what I'm here for. To update everyone on your life.
I was going to update my answer, but it looks as though someone has done that for me. Yes, I'm talking to you, Megan!
@Marianne- Amanda commented a while back that she became a Chaser in December of 2009 and saw her first show in Northampton in April...we have the same story, seeing as she is the one who introduced me to SNC and we've gone to all the shows together. When she commented we had been to 5 shows and were anxiously awaiting NYE. We have now been to 7 shows, with NYE and Gburg. I believe there are Chasers out there who have been to way more than that, but these 7 shows have led to a lot of adventures for the two of us and we've had the opportunity to meet a lot of amazing Chasers. By Nov 2011 we will have seen SNC 13 times total.
I'm also interested to hear how many times Chasers have seen these guys!
Megan
After conversing on Twitter with Dottie, I figured I would comment on this discussion to try and bring it back to life. I was curious as to which Chaser has seen the most shows.
I have only been a Chaser for a little while now. My husband introduced them to me Christmas of 2009, but really didn't get into it until last year. I have not seen them live, but will be going to their concert in Atlanta this December. Very excited!!!!
I would love to see some more stories from everybody else!!
I wanted to pull up this great discussion to the top again! Since this discussion was written I have seen them four more times (if you include the IU reunion show) and it's all because of the great friends I've made though the group! I love my chaser friends so much, and I owe Straight No Chaser a ton of love for opening up my world to new friends, music, and adventures!!
Looking forward to seeing them a bunch more times this year!
My first show was on April 17th in Collingswood, NJ--where they all want to forget the mic issues they had!!!! But, you know the guys--handled it SO well! Being in NJ allowed for multiple shows this summer, so I am v. thankful to say that I will be seeing my 13th show on NYE. I have been blessed to meet MANY wonderful *Chasers* and more importantly, make some REALLY good friends from the journey! :)
WOW I've been a fan for 2 yrs, ever since I downloaded Auld Lang Syne as a free holiday song on Itunes. I found the rest of their music, then started looking them up on YouTube. Unfortunately, I've only been to 2 concerts (one last yr and one this year). I hope that if they go to AC next summer to see a few shows there. Once you see them live, you are hooked. They are definatley one of my favorite groups to see live.
Three since July. I plan to at least double that in 2011. At least. Coming to a theater near me? Sounds like I need to move closer to Kary.
Oh my gosh, Carla...take your son! Very, very family friendly show!!!! This also is what adds to the attraction of this group! I saw them for the ninth (9th) time this past weekend in Hershey (#8 in Atlantic City the night before) and will see them for #10 on New Year's Eve. I live in the same area as DaisyKary and we really ARE fortunate that SNC is booked so often so close to us. Hope your family gets to see the show. I know you'll love it!
I am fortunate that I live in an area where SNC plays a lot. I have been to 7 concerts since April and NYE will make it 8 for the year. I plan to top that next year. :)
Christina - I found info, then couldn't figure out where this thread was! I looked on YouTube, which took me back to the videos here, which says that the video was posted in April of 2006. I'm still wondering if it went into a second holiday season before it took off. (You'd think I'd know that for as long as I've been hanging out here. My memory ain't what is used to be.)
Didn't see the dates right off on Amazon, so I went to our library's site. It shows Holiday Spirits as 2008, Christmas Cheers in 2009, and With a Twist in 2010. (Apparently they don't have a copy of Six-Pack.) How does that fit in with the timing of "the" phone call?
S- Randy's original 12 Days YouTube post has a date of April 25, 2006 on it, but I'm pretty sure it didn't take off until 2007. I first heard 12 Days on the radio in Dec. 2008, and I remember hearing that it went viral the year before & thinking, how did I miss out on this last year? I know the guys were working their day jobs and running to the studio on weekends in 2008 to record Holiday Spirits. Webisode 1- "Inking the Deal"- has the date March 29, 2008, so I think you are correct with your timeline.
Carla, Yes! Their shows are very family friendly! Afterward, they have a Meet and Greet so take cd's to sign and a camera! Hope you get to go, as they're AWESOME in concert!
@S.Brandon - I'm assuming it was 2006 because the DvD is copyrighted for 2006 and I thought everything happened back to back that year, though I don't have the receipt anymore so I can't actually verify. It may have been made in '06 and was available '07, I'm not positive.
Now you got me curious though I'm running out of places to look. ^_^
