Hi, my name is laura and i am a Chaser in need of an intervention.  i am stuck on Hi De Ho and have watched, in the past four days, every YouTube version i can find.  i have found that in the Houston video you can really hear Randy the best, but the Reading, PA video Charlie, Walter and Tyler have absolutely perfect slides...i mean perfect.  Spot on.  Not pitchy, not flat, not missing notes...perfection.

i woke up the past two morning singing every part...EVERY PART.  In the grocery store today, i was singing it out loud.  i was dreaming it last night.  Hi De Ho (Reading version) has taken over my life.

    Help......

Donna and gang (Barbara and CAnn and Groupie come join us too - the more the merrier)! I am already excited about the Atlantic City trip. I will be driving (I live in Connecticut) so we will have a car to get around in once everyone is there depending on how many we are. I honestly don't care where we stay as long as we are all together. Much safer in groups. During the week shows are just as good as a weekend show, does it even matter? Can't wait!!

Laura, the song in my head changes every day, depending on what I last listened to or what songs I hear on the radio. Lately it has been "Oh Holy Night" and "Fix You", don't know why, but variety is the spice of life!

Ok, I think we should start plans on this AC thing now so we're ready when it's announced for dates & places.
When I hit AC mid week, I was able to get an unblievable deal of 89.00 a night at Harrah's, but the weekend ones are really high! I think more of us going at the same time would mean we could share rooms & save a bit. The AC airport is in the middle of nowhere, & unless you rent a car, which I seriously should have done, it's a 37.00 cab ride!
When I went for the last show, I stayed at the worst hotel I'd ever seen & I was so depressed about the whole thing, I just wanted to cry, & it was not cheap either!
Terry & Judy D & I, & maybe we can convince Barbara, have been discussing next years AC, & maybe including a couple days in NY. The more of us together, the better, as we'll have more fun & be able to do more & stay at nicer places.
Some people flew into Philly, which I think a lot of people do, but I chose NY cause it was 100.00 cheaper & I could do more. The last show of the tour I flew into AC, & at that time, the price wasn't bad, but it had been higher earlier in the month. The boardwalk area is great, but once you get away from that, the hotels suck unless you go to one of the biggies that are basically in the middle of no where. I hope they are at one of the hotels by the boardwalk this time, a lot more fun if you're not a gambler, & the boardwalk was a hoot! This was my 1st trip to the east coast, so figured why not see NY too? I stayed in times square & it was great, so much to see & do, but I ran out of time for the statue of liberty, so that's on my list for this year.

Laura, you'll eventually get tired of Hi Di Ho, & you'll latch on to another one. What's weird to me is that I've ended up liking songs that I never did by the orig artists, & singing along with chicken fried when country is definitely not my forte!

Groupie, what's "utilize some of " the rooms for chasers" available in the area" mean?

Hey Julie,
I was there the last night in AC but I hadn't really connected with any chasers in person. I was also there earlier in the summer and I missed the special meet and greet they did for some of the chasers on Saturday afternoon becasue I didn't get the e mail in time. I think if a large group of us are going to be anywhere there should be a chaser alert so that more of us can meet eacn other

Two comments on a fan cruise:
1) Have any of you noticed cruise ships in the news lately? No thanks!
2) I'd probably be sick the whole time, even without high seas and bad food/little water.

Please stay on dry land! The weekend idea is interesting, not that I could afford anything like that. Sounds like a great pick-the-winner-at-random contest prize, though!

I know what you mean. I'm stuck on the Lady Gaga medley. It gets better and better with every time. I always find something I never heard before every time I listen to it.

@SNCGroupie This past summer, a "host of Chasers" decended upon Atlantic City the final weekend of the Harrah's run. I would be surprised if something like this didn't happen again! #funtimes

The fan cruise sounds awesome! Can we make sure that the guys are on the ship with us? LOL! Will they really be back in AC next summer????

I'm thinking more in the lines of "might need a bookie to keep up with my SNC habit!" =)

If not a fan cruise at least a fan weekend somewhere. Once the schedule is posted for Atlantic City next summer we should see how many chasers can get there the same weekend and try to utilize some of " the rooms for chasers" available in the area.
BTW there is no intervention for this addiction because no one is looking for a cure. And as far as a song going through your head I keep reliving "Hark the heearald angels sing" especially the Do-do-do-do's!

OMG! A fan cruise would be the cherry on top!! Hmmmm...do you think anyone reports back to them of what the fans are saying? Or maybe they're reading this themselves? FAN CRUISE, FAN CRUISE, FAN CRUISE!!!

This is weird - last night I was thinking that I am going to need an SNC Anonymous is needed. And a fan cruise would be the perfect place to relax and recove..... ok, relax. There are so many worse things to be addicted to.

WinnieA I LOVE that video! When I first started watching SNC videos, YouTube on the iphone was my best friend... I couldn't stop. My phone went with me everywhere and YouTube was always playing me something good. Even when I was brushing my teeth!!

laura_9's picture

LOL WinnieA...yes! that is exactly what is needed.

And Sheri, i completely agree...and am SO glad i am in good company!

And now i would like to proudly report that i have gone 2 whole hours without clicking the YouTube Reading version. YAY ME!

Laura: All I can say is you have joined an ever growing group of "Chasers" who are very proud of that label. SNC is an addiction for all of us here on the blog--can't go a day without listening to something SNC has out there whether it is YouTube, their CD's or DVD's, or just listening in your own mind! They are great people who have gathered an amazing group of fans all over our country spreading to Canada and Europe! Our family grows every time a new person is exposed to the men of SNC and their music! No intervention necessary, just keep loving the music of SNC!

Laura, I feel your pain. First I was truly addicted to "This is How We Do It". If anyone asked me anything even REMOTELY connected to anything in that song I'd burst into a frightful rendition complete with DANCING. Now thanks to that advent calendar I have a new addiction.

This is terrible...We need to start a Chaser Anonymous line.

laura_9's picture

LOL what a big help you all have been!

Honestly,i do feel a bit better knowing that this might be nomal behaviour for a Chaser.

Kary...that was hilarious....my mother...

Laura...there is no cure! The only thing that will get you off of "HI DE HO" is getting hooked on ANOTHER SNC song!! And there are NONE that aren't habit forming!! (that sounds funny, but I think you will get what I mean!!).

I don't think anyone here can help... :) More like "join the club"!

Where's that Houston video? ;-)
Seriously though, LOVE Hi De Ho. So, sorry, can't help you with rehab.

Yeah, the Reading show WAS a good show!!! Ummm, I don't think there are any 12 step programs available for this - at least I'M not looking for any!!! I'm sorry, you may just have to continue to "suffer." As long as you haven't neglected your family/children/pets/job, I don't really see that you actually have a problem, reallly. =)
