I've been impressed with the number of fan suggested songs and even explanations with why you'd love to hear the song! I think that thread has over 200 comments now. I've also seen a few future Album names suggested throughout reading different discussions and comments.
SNC has clearly come up with some great names, so they have a real knack for it, but I'm curious...
If you could name the album that comes after "With a Twist", what would it be?
@S. Brandon - Love "Party of Ten" - actually, that is what got me thinking of the Five! (it is late, andIi'm hitting the sack now!!) 'Nite ladies!
@Tic Tac Lady - I like "Raise the Bar" alot! (That would even be great for a cd with their "original" songs!) You also got me thinking of another title for this cd:"Take Five" (its their 5th with Atlantic and its been a whirlwind and they might want to take five themselves after this recording and brainstorming, plus people could take [i.e. buy] all 5 cd's!!).
klancy, you're probably right. What I'd *really* like is "Return to Pooh Corner." Hey, don't COTM's get a weighted vote here? ;-)
There's a live version of "Up on the Roof" on their first CD, "SNC."
@S - I believe "Up On The Roof" was on a college album. I adore the song but I would be surprised to see them record it for a new album.
Been a while since I've looked at the older suggestions. I like Party of Ten, also. (Maybe for album #10!?!)
Baa?
Wow! Still amazed at all the suggestions! "Raise the Bar" just popped into my head (maybe when I was trying to figure out BEEP vs. GREEP vs. SHEEP (Shaina!)).
Love Lillian's "Party of Ten"...what a fun album that would be (and great album cover possibilities!). Agree w' Alexsandra..WHATEVER they call it, it will be wonderful!
Kim, has "Up on the Roof" been on a CD yet? If it hasn't, it would be a perfect selection for an album called On the House.
I love that this thread is still active after all this time. The creativity of my fellow Chasers is phenomenal!
I vote for "A Round for the House" because Chasers will be involved selecting the songs somehow (refer to Ryan's recent rebuttal to Walt/interview on SNCFanChat podcast).
WOW! This HAS been around for a while! I didn't know that the IU group had an album called "Another Round"...LOVE S's suggestion of "On the House"..and the photo ops would be great! They could show us a pic of their favorite rooms in their own houses..that would be as fun as their baby pics from the Christmas combo! Agree w/S too that it should probably shy away from actual *inebriated* terms.
LOTS of great suggestions...fun discussion Kim!
GML, if this was facebook, I'd "like" your last comment. =)
I agree, I like "I'll Take the Fifth" too! I thought of a name the other day and now I can't remember it! I might be commenting again when it comes back to me lol.
@S.Brandon- "I'll take the Fifth" ...I REALLY like that!! "Lets break it down" as the guys say(!): 1)we've got the alcohol bottle reference which goes with the name 2) we've got the reference to the Atlantic record's five album deal 3)We've got marketing for ordering the cd ( I'll take ie I'll BUY) 4) we've got the obvious 5th cd - more marketing to obviously buy the other 4 cds! 5) we've got the reference to "pleading the fifth" (which to me represents the exponentially "combined" talents being God given i.e. they aren't taking credit,or incriminating themselves, which really exemplifies their humbleness) - That is a "loaded" one!!! And the combined reason to celebrate all that is good: talent, music, love, creativity, character, humor, friendships, etc....ALL that is SNC!! LOVE IT! And that is not even counting if they'd include Beethoven!! (They are "Classic" , in my book, earmark re-makes etc.)!
@Dottie -thank you. I only hope the guys read this and agree with you! ("no charge". Its "on the house"!!) Seriously though, this has been such a great discussion! So many super and inspiring suggestions and the creativity is awesome. I love the creative process (thus the SNC obsessive appreciation!) and how one idea leads to another, maybe better one, like with S.Brandon's!! The guys have us 'feeding off each other", like they do!! (their talents go beyond the singing!)
Here's to the new cd!! Anyone know about an expected release date? I know, I know, they're just getting ready to start the recording, but I can't wait!!.. guess I'll have to ;(
;) !!
GML, I *love* the way you think! That is brilliant!
Ah - there's a thought, GML! How about "I'll Plead the Fifth" or "I'll Take the Fifth?" ;-) You can read that anyway you like.
I don't know if they've settled on a name for the next album or not, and I was unable to get online for 2 months when this was last discussed, but...I really hope they include something about a "fifth" or the "fifth" in the title. Mostly because this celebrates the fifth of their 5-record deal with Atlantic - a reason to celebrate. Maybe they could do something with "Beethoven's fifth" in the beginning as well (I know some of the guys have that classical training and for me this was the first remake that I really liked and that got my attention because it was so well done -- not unlike SNC's music!!). ...just a thought! Can't wait for the new cd!!
"Straight No Chaser- A Touch of the Bubbly"
The discussion is just for fun, whether a proposed title is Inebriated, Passed Out on the Floor, or On the House, it's just a fun way for fans to come together with ideas :)
I'm sure the guys and their record label will name the next album with a great name that is fitting with the direction that they want for the group.
In the meantime, have fun and suggest away! :)
"Great Libations" made me chuckle to myself earlier ;)
Kris, I'll say something that I've mentioned before, as have a couple of other people: I know we're joking around a lot here, but I think we want to stay away from titles that actually indicate being drunk, e.g. "three sheets to the wind." ["Four sheets to the wind" must be passed out on the floor.] ;-)
Definately, Judy, definately!
Judy: My brain must be fried from studying for midterms. I didn't even make that connection!
"On The House" should definitely include "Up on the Roof"
Love the "On The House" idea!
@S. - Absolutely love "On the House" with the guys on a roof-top!
I am liking the "On the House" (great idea)! Others I thought of ...Four Sheets (to the wind) or is it Three Sheets (I never claimed to be an alcoholic)!!!!! Blitzed, Home Brewed, One for the Road, Refresher (as in a refill...we all seem to be needing this from them!), A Toast/Toasted, Uncorked...ok I probably shouldn't have done this before my morning coffee!
Oh yeah! I vote for "On The House" with them standing on a house. Good one S!
Ess...On The House is good...I like that. :-)
Barbara, being their fourth album, I think "Another Round" works better than "Round Two." And "Round Four" takes us back to sounding a little too close to tipsy. ;-) What about "This One's On The House?" Album cover: the guys standing on a building roof, singing.
