Will our boys be safe in AC if Hurricane Irene causes the damage & destruction they are predicting???

Kathy, Kathy, Kathy........how in the world can you (just one person) blame yourself on just one huge weather phenomenon, that traveled thousands of miles, that just happened to fall on the weekend of your birthday which you just by chance happened to schedule an attendance of three Straight No Chaser shows in a location on the east coast in New Jersey. This could not possibly be your fault and you should not feel bad, what-so-ever and I refuse to let you take such blame.....much less, let you believe that such a coincidence could ever happen.

Oh....BTW.......where are you going to be next weekend????? ;o)

this has been my fault. Just so you all know. I have a tendancy to attract hurricanes. And so because I was planning on going to the shore for my birthday to see 3 shows, thus Hurricane Irene was born.

so yes. this one do not #blamecarla... #blameKaffy #Thatisall

on a more serious note, I am glad that it didn't turn out as bad as they were expecting and that the guys are safe... along with any chasers that may have been in the path. :)

Lancaster County, PA seems to have faired better than expected last night. Was afraid to look outside this morning, but, overall, not too bad from what I can see from my window. I'm sure that will change as I get out and about. Very worried for the people of NJ, however, I must say, Gov. Christie rocks! Continued prayers for everyone's safety there and up and down the eastern seaboard.

Been raining here in Maryland all day. Now the rain's getting heavier & the wind is starting up. Lights have flickered a couple times. Hopefully it won't get much worse.

GML, yeah, Philly is supposed to get bad winds and loads of rain. Not a problem, I'll just sit and watch my DVD, videos on youtube, and listen to all of the SNC music I can find. I'ts not like I can really go anywhere this weekend.

@mel2bell84 Yes, he's @Book of Mormon! Phili is suppose to get some of the bad winds and rain, but it sounds a whole lot better than AC or NYC! They say 10 to 24 hours of Severe Storm rains. Then again, the last report also said Irene was moving east a little bit! This is unbelievable. Just the size of this hurricane alone. Continued prayers, and @Terry Pius - will also be praying for your nephew, for protection and safety.

@flyergirl97 i think DR is still in NYC

Anybody know where in Philly they are staying? Maybe I can run into them?????

FB post from Ryan said they are headed to Philly to ride it out, glad all are safe and hope people n the coast listen and move away like they are asked. Hurricanes are nothing to be trifled with.

Thanks mluza! I am glad to hear that they are being safe, praying for the east coast!

I work with Jerome's sister and she assures me the guys are safe. So all my fellow chasers who are worried-don't be. They're not taking any chances. I feel bad for all those who had tickets for Saturday and Sunday's shows.

sara_s's picture

hopefully all the guys find somewhere safe to go and all of my fellow east coast chasers are ok!!!

Thank you for the update Tara. Hope the guys are okay and feel bad for the Chasers who will be missing shows!

Jennifer_11's picture

Thanks everyone! Will keep all who live in Irene's path in my prayers. So sorry for all the Chasers who were looking forward to sharing the guys' last show with them this weekend! Love & prayers from Michigan!!

Sorry to be the barer of bad news, but here goes.......Just got the paper, from the Philadelphia Inquirer, "The Governor of NJ issued a State of Emergengy, calling out the National Guard". Evacuations order at the Shore. With winds predicated 89 m.p.h. with gusts of 106 m.p.h. and up to 8.3 inches of rain Saturday and Sunday. Once again, let's keep in our prayers ALL East Coast "Chaser", including of course OUR GUYS. BE SAFE EVERYONE!!!

flyergirl97's picture

Hey all, I live in Phila, not far from AC. As of 8 AM, reports are that ALL the casinos in AC will be closing. Mandatory evacuations started at 6 am this morning for ALL shore towns in NJ. I really feel bad for whoever had tics for their 1st SNC concert for Saturday. :( All of our prayers are with ALL who are in Irene's path! Stay safe everyone.

My oldest brother and his family live in Cape May County. He is coming here today with 2 cats. Most of the rest of my family that live down at the shore are in Disney World and not scheduled to come home until next week. That is other than my oldest nephew who is a police officer in Middle Twp., NJ. He apparently has been told to come home and report for duty. Hoping Irene is not as bad as it's being forcasted. Everyone stay safe!

Our guys, and everyone on the East Coast, are in my prayers. This sounds like an absolute "better safe than sorry" situation. God bless all of you...please stay safe!!!!

EileenR's picture

Looking at a few other posts, looks like AC is evacuating & the shows are cancelled. Chasers, please keep us East Coasters in your prayers this weekend!

Kristin_7's picture

Just read that OCNJ has ordered a mandatory evacuation by Friday evening... I imagine the same is in store for Atlantic City if it hasn't happened already. Stay Safe,Guys!!

cruiserkelli's picture

None of the guys have posted anything yet. Several of them are at a Broadway performance of Jersey Boys right now so they may not have heard anything about their shows. I'm waiting and watching too. Being a Jersey Girl myself...I hate hurricanes and the upheaval they cause. Praying everyone stays safe and dry!

EileenR's picture

Rereading Dan's post, I'm not sure if he means completely cancelled or just that HIS trip to AC is cancelled. Will try to find out...

EileenR's picture

Dan Ponce posted on FB that SNC's concerts are cancelled this weekend due to the hurricane. Disappointing, but the right decision. I don't think AC will be a safe place to be this weekend. Ocean City, MD is doing a mandatory evacuation of all visitors and residents.

stay safe everyone ...

Hope everyone stays safe!

This was NOT a part of my weekend plans!!! :( NOT a fan of this hurricane!!! This makes me sad!!! But, ultimately, I just want EVERYONE out here in NJ to be safe!!!

I really hope the guys stay in NY and don't attempt to travel back to AC. I know that most of the shore towns all the way from Cape May and up to Long Branch are being asked to evacuate.

Please pray that this storm changes path and heads out farther east.

Vixter's picture

I just heard that the hurricane is supposed to hit Atlantic City on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. Hope it doesn't ruin anything, guys!

GML's picture

The reports just said there is no way they can see that the predictions can be avoided. Worst in 67 and 90 years. Normally, they say twitter gets 200 comments per minute regarding the weather! Will continue to say prayers for "our guys" and everyone else in harm's way. Not just the NJ shore, but the whole state is at risk. Evacuation may be the state plan. Prayer can change Irene's path!
