So as "crafty" as I was feeling yesterday, I'm glad I was because now I have something to occupy my time/mind. I got a phone call from my mom this morning telling me that my uncle Jim is in the hospital!! I knew he hadn't been feeling well lately, (he's been battling kidney stones, among other things, off and on for years), but nobody (including him) thought it was anything serious. I guess last night, he got really sick, and my aunt took him to the hospital. The doctors say they don't know what all is wrong yet, but they think there is more to it this time than the kidney stones. They put him on pain killers and other medicines, but if he doesn't get better in a day or two, they are going to fly him to Iowa City and there is a chance he might have to have surgery. I don't really know what to think right now (which is why I'm focusing on music, school, and crafts). I didn't want to post anything on FB or Twitter because of the feelings of my parents, cousins, and my older sister Megan. Having said that, I'd appreciate it if the comments about this remained here. I don't usually let people in on this kind of stuff, but if I seem a little more distant/not as talkative lately as usual, I wanted to let you all know why. We are all really close to my uncle and this news has really hit hard. Any prayers for my uncle and family would be much appreciated right now!!

On a lighter, random note and more SNC related, I was wondering if any of you knew if any of the guys had favorite colors? I saw where Mike said his was black....but does anyone know about the others? I'd appreciate it....you'd be helping in my craftiness/keeping my mind off thinking about things too much. Thanks.

@Michelle, great to hear about Uncle Jim's progress. Sounds like he is doing well if they let him out of the hospital. Keep staying positive! We are here for you!

Always good to hear *good news*! And things WILL be looking up! Keep the good thoughts Shelle Bell! (yep, I"m probably your mom's age!).

Thanks for the good thoughts ladies!! I really do appreciate it. Update since I've had time to talk to my mom: Uncle Jim officially got out of the hospital yesterday, and is doing pretty well! He goes in for his surgeries sometime next weekend.

Here's hoping there's nothing else that goes wrong, and things keep looking up!! :)

Still thinking good thoughts - stay in good spirits Michelle - keep us posted.

That's good news Michelle. We'll keep praying he comes through the surgeries with flying colors!

Thanks for the update, Michelle! Glad to hear he is doing better!

Thanks everybody!! My uncle is doing better as of now, they put him on an antibiotic that he can only get through an IV, so he's going to have to stay in the hospital for awhile...but I got to talk to him tonight, which was a huge load off my mind. He's in really good spirits, and says that he feels perfectly fine, but I've been wondering if he's lying just to make me feel better about it. (He's good at that.) He's still going to have to go to Iowa City for both the surgeries, but we are hoping that he continues to improve enough in the next couple of days to be able to take himself up there (aka have my aunt drive him), so he won't have to be flown. I am kind of upset that I won't be able to be there for him when he has surgery because of school and being in Central Mo., but my parents, sister and brother-in-law, and aunt will be, and I've been promised updates. My uncle also told me that he refused to allow me to miss school because of him, and if I attempted to travel up there and he found out, I would be in trouble. (giving me crap is another thing he's good at).

Nicole ~ I know that he will be in good hands once he gets to Iowa City. Our family, unfortunately has a track record of spending way too much time there throughout the years...admittingly, starting with me being born prematurely and being sick alot when I was younger...luckily so far, it's a winning record!! :)

jillyj98~ Sorry to hear that you had to have surgery. Feel better soon!!

Michelle, keeping your uncle in our thoughts and prayers. Stay strong for everyone and take care of yourself too!

Keeping your uncle and family in my prayers. Please keep us posted...

I'm so sorry to hear that! Iowa City *is* an excellent hospital--he'll get the best care there. I'll be praying for your family. Hope you have answers soon. Waiting is hard.

Sorry to hear about your uncle, but surgery may be the best thing for him. I know what it's like to feel as if you need to talk to someone but can't exactly talk to family. Hang in there.

Michelle, your uncle is in my prayers along with your whole family and you, of course. I'm glad you have other things to think about - from my experience, that always helps. Thanks for sharing with us!

I hope things are going ok with your Uncle! Please keep us informed! ((hugs))

no prob! Good luck with your craft too! And for your uncles surgery and recovery! I'm actually a nurse and have taken care of patients with problems such as your uncle's. Sometimes if the stones are too big, surgery is required. A stone that's not removed one way or another..either by passing on it's own or surgery can cause a whole host of problems.

Thanks Alice!! I am in a slightly better mood (now that I know a little about what is going on) than I was when I wrote this a few hours ago...I guess, from what my mom has told me since, my uncle is going to have some sort of exploratory surgery in about aweek in Iowa City to make sure they know exactly what all is wrong with him....and he's also going to have to have surgery to remove the kidney stones. So I guess it's going to be a rough road for him....but I thank you for the prayers!!

I saw your post and I'm sorry that I wasn't in a replying mood then, but what a cool idea!! Thanks for the "color" help, if you get any more responses, can you send them my way? :) Good luck with your project!!!

So sorry to hear of your uncle. Praying for you and your family that there'll be answers to your uncles condition so that it can be fixed.

As for the guys' favorite colors, I'm looking for answers to that as well so I too can make them something (I posted something about a project I wanna do for them), So far here are what I found:

Mike-black
Seggie- Blue
Charlie- Green
Randy- Dark Blue
