    Hi everyone,

It's 10 PM east coast time.... my two cats are curled up and snoozing on the couch beside me. Seems so much has happened since the holiday season.  I usually come to this site when I can't sleep and go through to catch up on all the latest.

I thought it might be nice to start a thread that gives us an opportunity to voice how SNC has impacted our lives.  I know this sounds "nerdy"; but ive had worse things said about me and some of my ideas.

I don't know any of these gentlemen personally, but they have impacted my life.  So many times we all get so busy we forget to let people who have helped us know how much they are appreciated.  After almost dieing three times between August and December it has made me appreciate so much the little everyday things.

THat being said .... SNC thank-you for all you do.  I do physical therapy 5 days a week and it is your music that lifts me and pulls me through it when i want to quit.  Thank-you for being genuine.  Thank-you for respecting your fans and sharing yourselves with us via this site.

My hope is that once i get my health back I will someday make a live  venue and be able to say thanks in person.  Until then this will have to serve as my way of letting you know that you have touched my life.  God bless.

Besides all the amazing Chasers I have had a chance to meet. SNC reminded me how much I love music. They also reminded me how much I missed singing and performing. Back in April I started searching the internet for a local women's chours. Without too much trouble I found a local chapter of the Sweet Adelines. In May I auditioned and became a member...tomorrow night is my first performance with the group.

laura_9's picture

i wanted to add something real quick: those concerts (minus Gettysburg) were all gifts from a very special Chaser...she would be embarassed if i mentioned her but i cannot tell you the measure of her generosity....goes beyond the norm in every respect. my goal is to now try to pay it forward as i can....

I love reading everyones posts on here! The SNC guys could never truly understand what they mean to all of us!

@Michelle, the song Gina was quoting is "Have I Told You Lately" - it has been done by a bunch of artists but the version I always hear and listen to is by Rod Stewart

Listening to SNC has really helped me out throughout the past year. I guess you can say music is my release and music, along with dance but sometimes dance isn't as easy in public places or pretty much anywhere but the studio, is what I turn to when I feel like there is nothing else or when I'm just really down and out. I'm not going to say my life is horrible, because it isn't I know it can always get worse than what it is, but I hit rock bottom personally and listening to SNC always seemed to help. I would have days on end when I felt like I was alone and had no one to turn to, no friends or family or anyone to talk to, so I drowned myself in music and listening to any of SNC's songs seemed to take my mind off of anything and lightened my mood for a while. They really helped me get through some of my toughest days, when I really didn't think I would, could, or even wanted to get through the day or night. And they helped me without even meeting them or knowing them; simply through their music and amazing voices.

So, from the bottom of my heart, thank you to all of the members of SNC and their families who support and encourage them. And thank you to the fans who allow SNC to continue singing and performing the songs that have lifted me up and helped me, and countless others.

@Michelle - *Heartfelt tears* at the eloquence with which you both express yourselves and the beauty with which the guys touch our lives, beyond just making beautiful music, or giving us a few laughs. I am not nearly as able to express those feelings as you two, but read a quote today which may:
"In prayer it is better to have a heart without words than words without a heart." - John Bunyan

Thank you Michelle for your kind words of encouragement, thoughts and prayers! I am sooo excitedly looking forward to seeing them again, and meeting some Chasers for the first time!

GML~ *Happy Tears* I hope?!! November's not that far away when you consider how fast this year has been going. I'm so excited too, I get to see them for the first time in October. :) I have a feeling it's going to be a good time. Keep your head up, sending my Thoughts and Prayers your way. :)

GML's picture

@laura and @Michelle - You both so beautifully express your heartfelt sentiments, I'm in tears! I can so relate to everything you wrote. I am going through a long period of numerous challenges for the past year, and am so hanging on until I see the guys in Nov. with some of the same kinds of prayers and faith for my miracles as you expressed laura. You both inspire me to keep on. Thank you for sharing your experiences. YOU BOTH ROCK!!

Michelle Z.'s picture

Gina~ I don't think there are very many lyrics out there that could describe the feeling better...I completely agree. Can you tell me the song they are from? I don't think I've heard it, but I would like to. Awesome. :)

10 months ago when my best friend sent me a YouTube video of SNC's version of Fix You, I was so interested and intrigued, I watched their videos for almost 3 hrs straight before finally googling their website to really check them out. I remember messaging Tyler after seeing that he was from Iowa too, and thinking how crazy I was to do so. It wasn't long after that (sending the message...might have been the same night...) that Tyler responded and was the first comment on my profile. I am not usually the kind of person that stays a fan of one type of music for long. I'm kind of musically scattered, but for him to take the time to do that was so sweet and surprising I wanted to know more. The SNC guys and their music have since touched my life so much (as I'm sure they have many others...) just by being themselves with their genuine sincerity and contagious personalities that I know I'll never be able to return the favor.

This time last year I didn't know how hard my life was going to get. Between taking a Leap of Faith I wasn't sure was going to pay off and family illnesses, I was at a point, a breaking point really, where smiling wasn't an option when my best friend sent me that video. 10 months ago, 10 guys (and their Chasers :)...) came into my life in the most unconventional way and gave me my ability to smile (and laugh...) back!! The feeling has been continuous ever since and words can't describe how thankful I am to the guys and Chasers alike. THANK YOU!! You all ROCK!!! ?

~Michelle~

Have been blessed with their wonderful music and really enjoy all of the wonderful Chasers I've met! It's been a blast. It's nice being able to chat with fellow Chasers and look forward to the next show. Looking forward to meeting some Chasers in December and it should be a wonderful evening. Chasers are so friendly and outgoing (just like the guys in SNC!). :)

i'm not sure i can aptly express what SNC and the SNC community has done for me. Long story:
May 2010: i became unemployed due to some restructuring at my work place. i needed a career change anyway so though i was a bit scared about no employment, i was kinda excited about new steps. Novemeber 2010: a glitch in unemployment ended any/all payments AND i was not able to find a job. i really began to get worried...because i have a mortgage, etc...and things were just so bleak in my area in employment. Winter 2010/2011: Second worst time in my life. Almost lost the house, bills not being paid, stress, no sleeping....it was horrible. Very depressing and kinda sad that i had been working since i was 14 yrs old to amount to this??? Just horrid.

However, during that time, i was able to see SNC in Reading, Hershey, NYE in Reading and had tickets for Gettysburg. i visited this site everyday. i chatted with Chasers. i watched YouTube videos late at night when the worry would make sleep impossible. (i also did other healthy things to combat stress, including lots, and lots of prayer and healthy eating, walks, etc). i held on to that Gettysburg ticket like it was my lifeboat....knowing that if i could make it through winter and keep the house that things WOULD get better.

A week before the G-burg concert i finally got a job, after one full year and hundreds of applications. G-burg was a time of complete and utter rejoicing and joy for me. Not only did i get to see Chasers (oh i love you Chasers) and SNC (Oh that beard!....filter, filter filter) but that music...those voices that soothes one's soul and wrap muscial 'arms' around hurting shoulders...totally a healing concert.

So what has SNC done for me? Gosh-too much to mention-but one thing is for sure: SNC music and Chasers and Randy's dimples, erm i mean ALL the guys' great personalities, helped more than you will ever know. i thank God everyday for SNC and Chasers. Love, love, love you.

This not just because I've had a disappointing day, but in general and always...... these lyrics sum it up for me....

".....Fill my heart with gladness
Take away all my sadness
Ease my troubles that's what you do

For the morning sun in all it's glory
Greets the day with hope and comfort too
You fill my life with laughter
And somehow you make it better
Ease my troubles that's what you do....."

So thanks, guys..... truly..... deeply..... thank you.....

Cindy, I started a discussion back in December, telling all, what SNC had done for me. Your right, how we so forget to show our loved one's appreciation. For anyone who did not see and or read...See below...
THE BEST PRESENT I COULD HAVE EVER GAVE MY MOM FOR CHRISTMAS:
When I stumbled upon SNC on public televsion last year, I was FINALLY able to give my mom a Christmas present that she would enjoy throught out the year. You see, my mom is 80 (but looking at her, you would never know....great genes!!), and I could FINALLY take her to a concert she would enjoy. We went to the AC concert over Thanksgiving weekend. SHE HAD THE TIME OF HER LIFE. I finally found music she could listen to and totally enjoy. Well, I surprised her this Christmas with a new DVD and CD player for her own "All I Want for Christmas" DVD/CD. I just want to thank YOU ALL for one of the best presents I could ever give my mom. Along with my husband, we cannot wait until they come back again, as we can't wait to see my mom soooo happy like she was at Atlantic City. PLEASE, PLEASE, release a new CD.... like NOW!!!!!!!!! Thank you so much for all of the happiness that that you spread doing what you do so wonderfully.

@Christina S. That is awesome, as are your sketches!

Words can never express what all SNC has done and continues to do for me. They make me want to be a better person in every way I can. The way they "stepped up their game" in Every area in this AC show is motivating for me to do the same with my own self, in my own life. Seeing them do what to many of us seemed impossible i.e, to get any better, motivates me to try the seemingly impossible in my own life. Like I said, words cannot express those things which are closest to the heart, It's their love for music, excellence, each other, their families, God, the Chasers etc. ...Reminds me of the song: To Sir With Love, only substitute SNC for Sir!

Marna Lampe's picture

Wow, Cindy, how things have changed since you first posted this... For one thing, SNC brought YOU into my life, along with a whole slew of amazing friends! I love you, Cindy!!! :)

Christina S.'s picture

One thing I learned through SNC is that it is okay to share your thoughts with others, whatever they are. It's okay to have an opinion, no matter who might hear it. Their openness with their fans is truly amazing.

Another thing SNC has done for me lately is wanting to be creative again. I haven't sketched in a long time but while browsing photos online, I came across some really really awesome ones which I wanted to try to capture on paper. The end result can be found in the fan art section, along with the knowledge that there will be more. Everyone (SNC members and Chasers alike) have been so encouraging with their comments and feedback that it makes me want to do more. In doing more, I realize just how much I've missed it.

Shaina's picture

Wow. I can NOT believe how much has changed in the one and a half years since this post. Mostly good, of course, and I still stand by my words from then. But Cindy, I am SO GLAD that I got to meet you, that you get to see SNC as much as you do now, and that SNC continues to bring so many of us joy, hope, and sanity in our lives.

Brittain's picture

These ten guys are truly amazing, as I am sure we will all agree. I could never put into words how thankful I am to SNC! They make everyday I little bit brighter and can always put a smile on anyones face. Everyone of them are so humble and their kindness never cease to amaze me! Prayers to each guy and their families. You all are such a blessing to us chasers! Thanks!

Terry_4's picture

Wow, Angie, Tori, you guys said a mouthful and it is so true.

I just recently had the opportunity to finally meet some spectacular women when Tracy and I made our trip to Atlantic City last week. Being able to hook up with Valerie, Cindy, Denise, Dottie, Sara, Mary, Lynnette, Amanda, Megan, Latricia, Vicky, Tara, Marna, Lyssa (I am sure I missed someone). You ladies are awesome.

I have a whole new "family" in Chaserville and it never would have happened if it were not for "The 10 Most Amazing Men In The World". They brought me great music and even better, great friends. Thank you SNC for reviving my life!

KristinC's picture

Sorry Angie, I was referring to the OTHER cool Canadians.

:-P

AngieTheCanuck's picture

SNC has done for me what no other group has ever done. They have impressed me on so many different facets: their musicality, their wit, and their personalities to name a few.

They have made my phone explode with Tweets and Facebook messages and well wishes from friends I had, but just hadn't met yet, from all over the US.

They have made me want to improve in my own music, and have rekindled the love for singing and arranging that I always had, but had waned a bit over time.

They have made me feel like a teenager again, with late night phone calls to friends, and teasing posts about packages coming in the mail. I don't think a day has gone by since becoming a Chaser that I haven't smiled, though it's usually laughing out loud.

It sounds so corny and cheesy, but it's so true: SNC has changed my life.

(Kristin: xoxo)

Dave - LOL you're too funny!

Kristin - Cool Canadians, eh? (Sorry, couldn't help it lol)

SNC has caused me to meet a lot of cool Canadians.

Hey Tori-

are you sure it wasn't something you ate (butterflies)??? ;o)

ToriCanuck's picture

What has SNC done for me? Well, where should I start?

SNC has introduced me to a lot of great music. Over half of the songs they've covered (not including the Christmas songs, of course lol) I have never heard of before, and probably never would have if it wasn't for them. So thank you for that, SNC!

Thank you for bringing us such wonderful music and entertaining performances. Amazing arrangements and vocals, as well as ingenious antics, improvs and audience interactions.

Thank you for being so personable and going out of your way to make us feel special - through Twitter, webchat, SNCTAT, M&G. We truly appreciate your kindness and thoughtfulness.

Thank you SNC for bringing me to Chaserville. I have "met" so many wonderful Chasers. I feel very blessed to know these wonderful friends, and hope to meet all of them in person in the near future.

Last but not least, thank you for making me feel like a little girl again - feeling giddy and getting butterflies in my stomach whenever I listen to your music, think about you guys or talk to my friends about you.

Thank you for being part of my life. :)

DaveWhite's picture

well...............I was going to say that I've met some pretty damn great people who have now become very good friends. Of course I wasn't paying attention to the dates, looking down, I see that I basically said the same thing over a year ago. Guess I'll stick by my words. :o)

OH>>>>>they did get me to Gettysburg, which is a very cool town to just take in all of the history. Only problem is, that I only went for a weekend and I think I need to go back.
