Most of my friends know I have never heard Straight No Chaser on the radio, mostly because I don't listen to the radio because I'm busy listening to their CDs.  Today I heard it in an unexpected place and I think they will be honored when they find out where I heard them.

My very good friend Cathy, who was one of my friends who went to Napa to see SNC and also saw them twice when they were in Fresno, just lost her wonderful, beautiful, bright 21 year old daughter Kassie.  I went to the funeral today and when I walked into the church, the very first thing I heard was SNC's  "You're My Best Friend" playing while pictures of Kassie's life played on a Powerpoint presentation. I will now always remember when I finally got to hear my boys outside my usual realm.

By the way, the last time I saw Kassie was at both SNC concerts.

    My deepest condolences to your friend, her family, and to you, Kathy. I followed Sarah's lead and listened to the song in Kassie's memory.

    I live in Sonoma County, just over the hills from Napa. And I was at the May 14th show in Fresno. It was my first SNC concert and an unbelievably fantastic show. I didn't know Kassie, but knowing she was there that night lightens my heart, and I feel blessed to have shared the experience. May she be at peace.

    Wow. I'm so sorry to hear of your friend's loss. That is so very sad. I would go nuts if I lost my daughter, The song is a beautiful tribute. My condolences to you and your friend and her family.

    I'm very sorry to hear of your friend's loss. It is awesome that you can remember her in such a great light though. It's sad to see someone go, especially so young. You and Cathy's family be in my thoughts and prayers.

    Kathy: What beautiful sentiments, but what a sad story. So sorry to hear about the loss of one so young. My prayers go out to her family and to you. These are the kind of things it is very difficult to deal with for anyone but it always hurts a lot more when it is someone so young. Thinking of you at this difficult time. Wish you were close so I could give you a big hug!
