does anyone know how the heck they got on QVC!??

We're not getting it in Dayton either. I don't understand it because they were on one of our local stations and performed in the area, but Dayton's PBS has no plans on showing it. :-(

Neither PBS station I get are carrying the special, (I emailed to request it in Seattle and Boston), but my parents get Detroit...I'm getting play by play accounts of the special, and they are sold!! "Not only are they good, but they break the usual look of new groups". Add 2 new fans to the Canadian contingent!!

the live new york holiday special is already for sale by pbs... but its 90 bucks so im ganna try and tape it the old fashioned way...

Just got an answer from the guy at our PBS station and they are going to have the special next week!!!!!! I don't know if he already was going to have it or my constant pestering got him to put it on. Either way, it pays to ask them if it's not posted anywhere.

I vaguely remember reading something about the DVD being available and having tickets to their 2010 tour available via donation... Not sure how this will affect anything...

I know...if I could get the DVD for a $50 donation, I'd suck it up and do it, but I have a feeling it will be $75 or $100, if you can even get it separate. Sometimes they pair them and it's more like $150. :-(

Sorry S, yes, I was talking to you. Yes, they normally start with a $50 donation and work their way up. Don't get me wrong, I love PBS and the educational shows and the concerts/musicals they provide, but $80 is a bit too much in this economy to be asking for, for a general donation when a dvd is a heck of a lot cheaper!!

usually they start with a CD around a $50 donation and work their way up, don't they?

Brandon, wait until after the pledge stuff is done. I'm sure a few months from now it might be available via amazon or the store here or Barnes and Noble/Borders/Best Buy etc. I know it's not fun to wait but...more often than not these events are available for dvd a lot cheaper after pledge time. This is why PBS is having so many other artists right now (Sting, Bocelli, Celtic Woman, etc.). So it's also worth checking your local PBS website. That way you can also politely inquire every so often when it's going to be on. Hope that helps. Sorry that you have to wait a bit.

From the little I watched it was great. PBS is truly a great avenue for SNC as they really promote the guys strongly throughout the special.

One last note for anyone who may not be getting the special. You can pledge for the DVD on your local affiliate's website, or at least you can in my market (I don't see why it would be different anywhere else). Now, stress the word "pledge" there. The DVD will run you about $85 dollars, but that is the same amount it would be if you were to call in and pledge while watching the special. And to be clear this isn't the national PBS special, but your local affiliate's.

It seems like you can get your hands on the DVD even if the special won't be airing in your area. Best of luck to all those who may still be in the boat I thought I was in!

So I feel rather umm... idiotic!!

Not only is the special playing, but its playing in my area RIGHT NOW!!!

I will DV-R it on replay thankfully. But word to the wise to anyone else who doesn't think they are getting the special, scour your channel listings very carefully. It seems like it could pop up when you least expect it.

So pumped right now!!
