Merry Christmas!!, Happy Chanukah!!, Happy Quanza!!!
I surf the web quite often and shocked at myself for not coming across your talents sooner. I first heard your version of the “12 Days of Christmas” last weekend while I was decorating the tree with my 6 year old son. This version was a welcomed change from other stale traditional holiday songs. Later that day I searched he playlists of the local radio stations that were playing mostly Christmas music and discovered you groups name. Then I turned to YouTube.com to see more of your stuff. That was when I learned of how Straight No Chaser got it’s start.
I was immediately excited when I found out that SNC was not only from Bloomington, IN but also attended IU. The irony is that my wife of seven years was also born and raised in Bloomington and also attended IU (graduating in 1992 I think). Now, she lives on the south coast of Massachusetts, two towns over from my home town. A few years ago, her mom moved out to live in our town as well. Her only brother lives due south of Boston. All transplants from the Midwest, never a day goes by that she does not reminisce of her life growing up in Bloomington. After telling her of your story and emailing links to your YouTube posts and website she also was curious to know more about SNC.
Looking at the list of tour dates, I see that there is only one trip to Boston this time around. And it is already sold out. Are there any plans to add more shows in this area (Boston, MA or Providence, RI)? We would love to see SNC up close and personal. Also, is there and plans to make an album with the songs that were performed back in the hay-day of SNC: Superstition, Superhero, Hi-De-Ho, plus others?
Can’t wait to hear more SNC!!!
