No problem, BooBoo. Your opinion was expressed much more mildly than Jelly's, even though it sounds as if she may have been quoting someone else.

LOL; I love the eggnog comment! :)

    PEOPLE magazine's review:

"With their potent vocals, this 10-man acapella outfit gives you plenty of reason to raise a glass of eggnog."

This was under PEOPLE's "Spotlight on Holiday Music". Artists such as Bob Dylan, Andrea Bocelli, Neil Diamond and David Archuleta (of American Idol) were included in this and SNC received one of the best reviews!

    :-)

Please forgive me. I didn't mean to be derogatory or offend any one.

I would be the first to agree Susan Boyle is an inspiration to those of us up in our years and she has an amazing voice!!! I certainly can say I have no such professional talent and should not and cannot formally speak on the profession of both Susan Boyle and SNC.

I can, however, say I like to listen to good music and Susan Boyle's talent as well as the entertaining and talent of SNC has provided me with another appreciation for the variety of music available to the public.

I have been so caught up in SNC since I saw the PBS special ran on the local PBS station that my excitement for this group may have been inappropriate.

    Again, my sincerest apologies.

Exactly S. Susan is a wonderful inspiration to everyone. She really is proof positive about what happens when you have a positive outlook on life, despite the cards you're dealt with in life. She might have it harder than most people because of her learning challenge, but she rose above it and in that sense should be commended.

Jelly, whoever said to you everyone can sing beautifully was lying their booty off. Most people aren't born with a beautiful voice and most people also can't afford to properly train it and don't know how to keep it in good shape. The guys here were born with a gift and chose to train their voices and dedicate themselves to a very strict regimen that most people couldn't commit to because of the demands it takes to keep the voices they have and improve them. There is an expression amongst vocalists-Vocal Athletes Work Best.

Dave, unfortunately it's too easy to lose especially if you don't take care of it and you abuse it. Look at Whitney Houston-enough said. That said, men don't hit vocal maturity singing wise until their mid 30's-40. Plus as any properly trained person will tell you, Vocal Athletes Work Best and if you don't use it, you lose it.

Is this easier said when you have had the right training by the right people? Absolutely I have 7 years under my belt with one of the members of one of the best Choirs in the world. Did it come easily? Heck no. I worked my butt off for it and sacrificed a lot of things to keep improving. However, it also limits what music I listen to and appreciate and I'm not even blessed with perfect pitch the way some of the best of the best are.

about susan boyle..... lt me Tell u something i heard once
"ENYONE CAN SING BEAUTIFULLY. THE THING IS, SOME PEOPLE KNOW HOW AND SOME PEOPLE KNOW HOW TO PRETEND, AND OTHERS DON'T TRY SIMPLY BECUASE THEY ARE AFRAID TO FAIL"
the only reason she is given so much attantion is becuase she is old, had the courage, and has lost her youthful looks (so nobody was expecting it)... i'm sure if it was a cute old lady that sang on the show, she would have never go a record deal like susan boyle did. she gives a certian hope to the people that media forces the world to not except becuase of the way they look. its not a bad thing but its slightly twisted...

I agree with S. I think that she DOES have an amazing voice, and her determination against all odds isn't something to sneeze about, either.

Let's not make derogatory comments about other singers. I think Susan Boyle can be quite good, although I haven't heard her CD. She killed on her first appearance on Britain's Got Talent, and is spite of how things went up and down after that, I think it's fantastic that a woman at her age and stage of life still believed in herself enough to give it a shot.
