You have a song, "Live Your Life & Flo With" on your website.  It also shows a picture of an album cover that is red.  I can't find the CD anywhere.  Was it a demo or a CD & can it still be purchased?  I really like the song.

Bailey, when people copy songs illegally, or buy them but pass them around to all their friends, that also prevents royalties (payments) from going to the original artists/writers, which is how they make their money. iTunes went through a big thing with that in the last year or two, which, if I understood it correctly, was the reason they raised their prices for most songs they carry. Paying the higher fee now allows buyers to make copies of the songs, although I think it is supposed to be only for personal use, and certainly not to sell. Someone who knows the ins and outs of that could probably explain it more clearly (and/or more accurately).

Royalties are money paid to a song writer, singer, record label, etc. for use of their work. In the case of this medley, I believe there are three different songs and depending on contracts, there could be multiple people/organizations that need to be paid. It can be very expensive and complicated if there are multiple parties involved.

Hope that makes sense. It was a good question, Bailey.

i don't want to sound naiive or anything, but what are royalties and why would they be complicated and or expensive?

I don't know about the album cover, but that question comes up on here periodically. They can't put it out on a recording because the royalties would be too complicated/expensive. Sorry!
