When do you start listening to holiday music?

Now that summer is behind us, I was wondering when everyone starts listening to holiday tunes. A friend of mine who used to work in retail starts craving Christmas music around Oct. 1. I used to wait until after Thanksgiving. Then one year a local radio station began their "all-holiday" programming on Nov. 1. They got a bunch of complaints, I guess, because the next year they switched back to an after-Thanksgiving start date. I, however, thought Nov. 1 was a great time to start my Christmas CDs in heavy rotation in my car. Now, with 2 SNC holiday CD's in my hot little hands and Chaser-itis afflicting me all year long, I think I will probably start earlier this year. I've already been watching SNC videos like "Who Spiked the Eggnog" & "Christmas Can Can" off & on all summer.

So, let us know when you listen to holiday music- or if you never stop!

I'm getting a late start this year- haven't dug out the holiday CDs yet. This fall has been exhausting with all my kids' activities, and now that some of them are finished, I am not quite ready to face Christmas yet- not even the music. I'm thinking I *might* even wait until after I see SNC on 11/19. It might be kinda cool if whatever Christmas music they perform that night is the first I hear this year!

I usually start listening to Christmas music around the end of August when the first cold day (I live in Oh) comes. From then on I listen to it up until April or so. For SNC, it's all year round. There are many times when I crave to hear one of their songs and just have to listen to it.

I've been listening to Christmas music for at least a month now... But I work at a show in Branson and Christmas starts early. Actually, our Christmas show started today. So I've already had my fair share of Christmas music, but it doesn't stop me from listening to SNC Christmas CDs!

I've been listening to some SNC holiday stuff off & on. I will probably be breaking out my George Winston "Linus & Lucy: The Music Of Vince Guaraldi" CD soon, too. It has music from many of the Peanuts specials, including "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" and my all-time favorite Peanuts special, "A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving". Hearing songs from the fall holiday specials as well as the Christmas special makes it a nice segue into holiday music.

I'll start as early as June..it really depends on how busy I am and how much I'm craving it. Definitely by September. I just love the Christmas season!!!

Religiously start listening to Christmas music every July 5th. Dunno why. I guess July 4th would be unpatriotic, so naturally, July 5th makes sense.

Monday I loaded both SNC Christmas CDs back on to my iPod, although I will wait until Thanksgiving to load the rest of the Christmas CDs. I was all smiles at work listening to my holiday playlist. For the time being will have just stay on my iPod. Hubby has informed me he doesn't want to hear Christmas music until December. We finally agreed on the day after Thanksgiving while putting up the Christmas tree.

I listen to SNC's holiday music all year!! But... because my family would think I'm a little strange, I listen to it with my head phone in the summer. I really like holiday music, especially SNC's arrangements. They're the best!!

SJ, if you never stop listening to Christmas music, doesn't that get a little annoying when you're watching The Sing-Off? :-p

Ditto, SJ. I listen to good Christmas music, like SNC's albums, all year.

It was meant to be, Winnie! I'm glad your computer froze there too, and glad you discovered SNC! Have you had a chance to listen to any of their other Christmas stuff?
