Straight No Chaser Discussion

Who do you think it is?

Which of the 10 current SNC guys do you think has the largest vocal range?

It’s a question that I asked SNC via Twitter the other night,  It has sparked an interesting response from the #SNCTwitterbugs and some of the guys!

I thought I’d bring the question over to the website and get a broader poll going. :)

So, tell me who do you think it is...

Wanted to bring this discussion back up to remind the guys that we never got our video proof of largest vocal range. Maybe someone on Twitter can ask them about it for Tell All Tuesday today.

    You learn something every day.

Yea-for males just their singing voice. For females it's 20's to early 30's, again just the singing voice.

Late 30s to early 40s? Seriously?

S and Klancy, it will depend on a lot of things. Are you measuring it now? Mens voices aren't done changing until their late 30's to early 40's. I'd be interested in how much each member's voice has changed since they first started training...what was their highest note at the beginning of training vs now.

I think the word we're looking for is "Proof! Proof! Proof!" Much easier to chant in unison, although it may sound a bit like the dogs in my neighborhood going crazy over a jogger.

Okay boys, the gum video is funny, but where's the video proof of who has the largest vocal range??? You all are such teases!

Lots of discussion going on through Twitter on this topic! Check for Walt's Twitter feed on the main page for some interesting #SNCFunFacts!

Also, check the community twitter feed and you might see some of the Chaser guesses!

I would probably say Charlie. In Hi-De-Ho he definitely shows that!

Thanks to the excellent videos posted on youtube: Randy gets my vote, with a falsetto voice i never dreamed he had!! Of course, i suspect some of these guys haven't shown us yet what all they can really do!!!...Pleasant discoveries await for the video proof!

I'll wait on the proof to know for sure, but I'd be willing to bet it's probably one of the tenors. I've heard tenors sing so low, it took convincing for me to believe that they weren't baritones or basses, and a couple sing so high, it nearly broke glass and took convincing for me to believe they weren't women.

But if I really had to venture a guess as to who has the largest vocal range personally....I'd have to say that if it is a Bass: Randy and Charlie are pretty equally matched, so it's a tie there. Out of the Baritones: I'd have to go with DR, and for the Tenors: Either Walt or Tyler.

It would be fun to see who it actually is!! LOL. :)

I'd say the basses just cause I believe they can sing Baritone as well, maybe some of the tenors though no where near the falsetto voices. But if we're talking about some of the largest ranges they have to go in one song, sometimes right after another, I'd say the Basses take the cake.

Anxiously awaiting the answer too! I guess it depends on what the definition of largest range is. If we mean lowest to highes note, that's one thing...if we mean the most number of notes between one of the guys' lowest and highest notes, that's something else! Obviously Randy and Charlie can sing the lowest, so if one of them can sing the highest too, then that would make them the champion. But if, say, Tyler can hit the most notes in between his lowest and highest, then he'd be the winner!

    Anxious ears await...
