I'm not sure, but I think we only had the option of socks that matched the uniform, so green, gray, maybe white. We did try to wear shirts that showed some individuality, whether they particularly went with the uniform or not. I remember having both bright red and bright yellow shirts that I wore with it. Funny that I would recall that. The skirt may have had a very thin yellow stripe in the plaid.

Back then a lot of schools didn't have AC, and the Catholic schools didn't have a ton of money for anything. I don't know who picked the uniforms; they had been around a while before I was there. Plenty ugly, too. Gray and green plaid skirts for all the girls; gray blazers for the first two years, dark green blazers for juniors and seniors. And knee socks, of course. :-O What really stunk was that the boys didn't have uniforms! They probably weren't allowed to wear jeans and had to have shirts with collars, but that was about it. The same school now has khakis and polo shirts in a couple of color choices for both genders. Not sure if there is even an option of a skirt, as they got rolled up too high.

If we did make them up, there weren't many. I'll have to ask my sister if she remembers. On the other hand...air conditioning? Ha! Not one bit all the way through high school, and I'm trying to remember if we had it in the college I went to. Try wearing a wool uniform October through May with no AC. I will say, when it got hot again in October (typical for a week or so), they usually let us back into civvies. ;-)

I know. No one wants to make up whole days! I don't recall having to make them up when I was in school, but my daughter did. I think our school year was a little longer to begin with, back in the Dark Ages.

Ah! The infamous "lake effect," no doubt. Lucky you. Hope this doesn't put you a whole week longer into June.

I'm in Indiana, and no one cancelled MY school! Oh, wait - I'm not in school any more. Still occasionally have bad dreams about not having assignments done on time, though.

Good for you, taking honors classes already! I don't think we had them that soon, but then, that was back in the Dark Ages.

Hi. Too bad we can't actually send private messages like we cold on the original snc site. I'm still confused about your finals. I'm in Indiana, and I don't think I know anyone having finals now, although I'm getting a bit removed from that, as my daughter is at Purdue. Unless...WAY back in the day, when I was at a Catholic h.s., we didn't have the end of our semester until after Christmas break. Is this the end of your first semester?
